Disappointing Experience at AJ Fusion Last Saturday, I went to AJ Fusion for lunch, and unfortunately, my experience from start to finish was far from pleasant. Upon arrival, there was no host to seat us. Instead, the bartender shouted from across the bar, telling us to sit anywhere. After we sat down, she again yelled, asking if we wanted water. It took about 10 minutes for water and menus to arrive. The bartender, who also served as our waitress, did not appear professional or well-groomed. There was a noticeable odor, and her hands looked unclean. Additionally, she seemed unfamiliar with the menu. We started with empanadas as an appetizer, but they were inedible—greasy, with unmelted cheese and flavorless meat. They also lacked any accompanying sauce. We immediately sent them back. For our entrées, we ordered chicken chaufa with added vegetables, steak chaufa with added vegetables, and chicken tacu tacu. The waitress mentioned a $1.99 upcharge for added vegetables, which was fine. However, when my dish arrived, there were no added vegetables—just a few broccoli stems and a small piece of broccoli that looked like it came from a frozen bag. Yet, I was charged $3.50 for the add-on. The steak dish was the biggest disappointment—it tasted sour, as if the meat had gone bad or was marked down. When I brought this to the waitress’s attention, she simply said, “They just bought that meat!” and jotted down my complaint. All the rice dishes were gummy and slimy, making the texture unappetizing. Overall, the customer service, food quality, and pricing were extremely disappointing. At around $55 for this meal, I expected much better. This restaurant would greatly benefit from staff training and improved food handling. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Response to Owner/Management: Thank you for your response. I appreciate you taking the time to address my concerns, though I do find it interesting that it took three weeks for a reply, especially considering that I’ve seen you respond to other reviews much more quickly. No worries—just something to note regarding professionalism. To clarify, I did bring these issues to the server’s attention, but unfortunately, they were not adequately addressed at the time. Regarding the empanadas, we tasted them and found them inedible, which is why we sent them back. The fact that others may enjoy them does not change our experience. As for my comments about the server, my intention was not to be disrespectful but to highlight concerns about professionalism and hygiene—both of which are essential in the food service industry. Additionally, my issue with the steak was not just about personal preference; it genuinely tasted off. If the marinade is meant to have a sour taste, that is something that should be clarified to customers. I appreciate your invitation to give the restaurant another try, but given my experience, I will have to decline. I hope my feedback helps in improving both customer service and food quality moving forward.

Great place, some of the best Peruvian and fusion food I have had. Some of the best South American cuisine I have ever had (better than the food in Panama City 🇵🇦, Mexico city 🇲🇽, and even a tiny 4 bench cantina in Columbia. All pf the food was seasoned perfectly. You know how sometimes if you have a food allergy, taking the components you are allergic to can ruin a dish. The food was seasoned so well, that when the dairy was removed, it made a diffetence, but the flavor was so good it didnt matter. The owner and his wife were personable, and fun to talk with. We had a problem with our order, and they took care of it immediately, and apologized for the inconvenience- something that is sorely lacking in businesses today. I had the Empenada Trio. Technically, it is an appetizer, but it makes for a great meal. There are beef, chicken and cheese empenadas, and they were all crispy, and delicious. The beef was a great flavor, then the chicken was a bit spicier, but had flavor that was just as great as the beef. The cheese was crispy outside, gooey cheesey greatness inside, and so flavorful, that I likely have my go to dish for this place on my second visit! They came with a tomato based sauce, and a pepper based sauce, both of them were excellent and worked well with the Empenadas. Another visit, I had the Aji de Gallina. Perfectly cooked, and, again, everything was so well seasoned that the flavor just jumped out. The mixture of the rice, Charcoal roasted chicken, and cheese based sauce were the perfect compliments for each other. The fried plantains were crispy outside, soft inside, and an excellent choice for the side. If you find yourself on Battleground Rd here in Greensboro, please stop in and enjoy this wonderful slice of South American flavor.

I really really wanted to give this Resturant a 5 star! This Resturant CAN be the hottest spot in greensboro! Soooo much potential! My notes!.. -add centerpieces..something that you would see in Latin America..the tables have no “personality” and if it’s in the evening then put candles (Costco has some cute candle centerpieces). It will up the atmosphere and make this spot a great spot for date night -I had a cocktail and it was spot on (kuddos to the bartender) 👍🏼 -either make it a standard (or if you know the kitchen is backed up) then place the little bowl of crunchy corn for people to munch on at allll times -make sure that the food that is served is hot (I had the paisa) great dish but the whole dish was not hot (only the fried plantain was hot)..the rice was warm, the sausage under cooked, and the fried egg tepid. -love the “yucca fries” -Ceviche DELICIOUS 🤤 however if you are going to serve it like a salad then place it on a bigger bowl..the juice (el caldo) is on the bottom. My husband felt he was digging into the dish to find the fish and filled himself up with the salad! He didn’t think there was any juice! -the SOUP omg 5++++ AGUADITO. The identical soup my columbian 🇨🇴 step grandma would make for us! We have decided this will be the soup we will order when we are craving Latin American soup! 🍲 bravo -our waitress was lovely lovely! ☺️ Jade?janey? -the great thing about this Resturant is the menu! -great location for families to do family dinners They are spot on with representing Spanish/latin favorite dishes! They just need to tighten up a lil bit here there and this will be our every week go to Resturant! We will be back! Buena suerte! 👍🏼🤲🏼
