Big fan of the atmosphere, people, music, and selection on any given day. But I had to update my review after hosting a private event here to celebrate my birthday. Best birthday party I’ve ever had! We used their projector to do funny/interesting powerpoint presentations, and we made paninis on site. The environment was private, comfortable, and uplifting, and guests had everything we needed and more. I felt supported in my vision for the event and like I could relax and enjoy the experience. Tried to order a beer at 9:58pm when Gate City Growlers is open until 10:30pm on a Saturday and was turned away because the bartender “stopped pouring for the night.” When I asked what time the last call was, I was told “it depends, we work fluctuating hours.” He turned away 5 people who walked in as well because he felt like stopping service for the night because it was slow. How can a business not have legitimate hours they are open when a bartender can decide to stop serving beer and then stand behind the bar the last 30 minutes...

This place has a great selection of craft beers. I didn't count the taps, but I would guess it was close to 20 beers on tap. There is plenty of bottled beer to choose from as well, I just always prefer to bring in my growler to refill instead. But there are plenty of options for everyone.
