The Captain's Catch — Restaurant in Greensboro

I was honestly quite surprised that a seafood restaurant was open at 10am. I wasn't expecting much when I arrived at 10:15am on a Saturday morning, but I was surprised to see a few customers already seated and eating brunch/lunch. I have never been to a "fast-food" seafood restaurant before, so I asked the cashier what the top dishes were. She gave me 3 options to choose from, and I decided to go with the catfish plate that comes with 1 side and a few hushpuppies. For my side option, I opted for the mac and cheese since I wanted something carb-heavy to balance out the fried fish.

The fish was full of flavor - the outside had a nice crispy texture and the inside was extremely tender. The seasoning was superb and wasn't salty at all. I didn't feel like I had to chug 3 cups of water while eating my meal, which is always considered a win in my book. The mac and cheese had a wonderful, deep cheesy flavor. The hushpuppies had a nice crust and warm, soft dough on the inside. The cashier also came up to me before I started eating and offered ketchup, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce.

Overall, I am incredibly happy with my experience here and will be back in the near future!

i have ordered food from here a quite few times over the past few years. today 1/10/25 i ordered the 7 piece wing combo with fries and drink. when i got home i ate my food, turned the chicken over and seen a huge piece of hair. i called and the same cashier who placed my order answered the phone “Abd” i told him abt the hair on the chicken etc he was not sure of how such thing could happened due to the cook wearing a “thingy” on his head to cover up his hair. (those were literally his words) i asked if i could get a credit for my meal, ole boy didn’t even know what a credit was…….refund, free meal etc. i had to explain what a credit was, i found it so crazy a 17 year old that’s in high school knows what a credit is and a full blown adult doesn’t know. No i was not going back up there due to weather, he told me i couldn’t get a refund but i could come back on sunday to talk things out with his manager. i truly believe if you are the only worker working at the moment you should know how to handle certain situations, Abd did not have critical thinking skills. this saddens me because i really did enjoy the food but after today yall will not be getting my money ever again. hair in food is unsanitary and...

This is a Detroit Style seafood restaurant most of the time people who try to do Chicago style and Detroit style the food is usually too salty and I asked them is this a true detroit-style they said yes and of course when I got my food it was too salty the catfish was a little mushy did not taste like fresh catfish it taste like and truckstop catfish which is a pre batter comes in Frozen with batter already on it if you have a seafood restaurant you should never have a pre batter fish and if I am wrong please forgive me and correct me it is just my opinion based on my experience I got small catfish which was two pieces of catfish and three very small hush puppies for $8.99 I also ordered the shrimp jumbo for 7.99 I got four jumbo shrimp for $7.99 the jumbo shrimp had so much grease on it it almost tastes like the grease had too much water in it and it wouldn't fry I thought I had ordered enough for two people when I open up my platter literally there wasn't even enough for me I think if your prices are going to be this high at least have a filler like French fries I should have more for $17 I have to now go home and cook dinner I would not recommend...
