I went thru drive thru on 8/2/19 4:18AM and sat in the drive thru for almost 20 minutes and had leave without my order. After work that afternoon 6pm I stop by McDonald's to get my refund only to observe the manager on duty being rude to a customer that didnt receive his order correctly. That customer finally became so frustrated with her comments and fires back at her snatching his food replacement and storming out. At that point I knew that I had it coming to, so I then ask the guy behind the register that I would like a refund and he then goes and relates to this awful of a team manager (Maria). Her response with attitude is that she will not refund my money since the order took place in the early morning. I then ask why not, That I didnt receive what I purchased. Long story short, Managers supposed to be what some employees cannot because for the most part they have the experience to handle most problem issues. After we ordered, my wife noticed that the dining area wasn’t very busy, so we figured we’d go ahead and eat inside. However, most of the tables were dirty—and we had a crew with us: our kids, nieces, nephews, and even our newborn.
When we asked about getting a clean table, a woman kindly responded, “Most definitely, that will be no problem.”
But to our surprise, when she returned, she handed me a spray bottle and rag and said, “Here.” Basically asking me to clean the tables myself. I was shocked. But truthfully, I’ve never been the type to think I’m too good to do anything. So I smiled, cleaned the tables, and made sure there was a spot for my kids, wife, and parents to sit down.
The sad part? Not a single employee—including the manager—seemed to think anything was wrong with that. No one stepped in. No one offered to help. It felt like they thought they were too good to do what used to be a basic part of customer service.
The biggest takeaway? Somewhere along the way, we forgot what customer service really means. And that’s...
