We had a horrible experience at this melting pot. We had a reservation and sometime throughout the day, we received a call verifying our reservation the message left was we could have a two burner table but there would be an up charge. That was not a problem but when we got there we were told we had been left a message that they could not give us a two burner table at that time frame we had reserved. The table that had two burners was and would be available an hour from now and there would be up charge so we took one burner. The agreement was when the actual entree came we could move two burners if they were done. Interesting fact three tables in the back were empty with two burners and never filled throughout the visit. Then in the middle of dinner we asked for drink refills and we’re told that there was a water main break and they had to turn water off. At this point we became concerned because how would they wash hand ms ect so we asked waiter how could we have drinks he said sorry there just were no drinks my sister then asked do you have bottled water he said yes and left. He came back with ice and water in glasses and my husband inquired about where he got it. The waiter Corey then said out of the bottles. My husband said I thought you said there were no drinks. Then my husband asked what about the groups of people who had recently come in how and what were they drinking shouldn’t they close and let people know what was going on. We all continued to cook but did not trust where the water had co e from. We left half our entrees there and asked for our bills. Then the man who sat us who we thought was the manager asked why no dessert we said we have no drinks and he said we can give it to you to go . We asked him to charge us for entrees , cheese, and salad separately but we would not stay for dessert. We were all headed back to our hotel so we did not want anything to go. He then disappeared and we still had no one being us the bill for another 10 minutes . Then the waiter reappeared and said here is you bills and acted like he had been helpful the entire time. It was my sister and her husbands 37 wedding anniversary and it was a completely horrible bad managed experience. Never eat here unless you have to. By the way Corey still got his 20 percent tip which would have been much more than that had he been a halfway decent waiter. Corey you were awful and your Manager was even worse . Shame on you Melting Pot. We have been to Melting Pot in several states and we sat at ours locally all the time. By far the worst Melting...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Melting Pot in Greenville, South Carolina, and I must say it was a perfect experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for the evening.
Our server, Wendy, was an absolute delight. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. She took the time to explain the menu options and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Her friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for the food and the restaurant truly enhanced our evening.
Now, let's talk about the food. The Melting Pot offers a unique dining experience centered around fondue, and it was nothing short of amazing. We started with the cheese fondue, which was a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The variety of dippable items provided a delightful mix of tastes, and Wendy made sure our cheese fondue was always at the perfect consistency.
For the main course, we opted for the classic fondue experience with a variety of meats and seafood. The cooking process was interactive and fun, and Wendy guided us through it flawlessly. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and each bite was cooked to perfection. The accompanying sauces and sides were also delicious and complemented the main course beautifully.
Finally, we indulged in the dessert fondue, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The chocolate was rich and velvety, and the assortment of dippable treats was a chocolate lover's dream come true. Wendy ensured that our chocolate fondue stayed warm and smooth throughout, allowing us to savor every last bite.
Overall, my experience at The Melting Pot in Greenville, South Carolina was nothing short of perfect. The combination of excellent service from Wendy, delectable food, and a cozy atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a unique dining experience, I highly recommend The...
Read moreThis was our first time back since Valentine's Day 10 years ago. My wife wanted to return for a "nostalgic" vist on Valentine's Day and I made reservations well in advance. We arrived for our reservation on time at 530 pm. We then waited, standing in the crowded hostess area for almost 25 minutes. No worries, we waited at other restaurants over the years, but we could tell already that they were incredibly overbooked and understaffed. We were then seated in the bar area, not what I'd expect for $160 per couple, plus a mandatory gratuity for 2 people (I've heard of mandatory gratuity, but always on larger groups). I mention the price now, because let me describe the atmosphere. Tables squeezed along the wall of the bar, literally 24 inches from the next couple, separated by dollar store paper partitions. The person who sat us offered a complimentary champagne, but then dove right into the soup choices (we hadn't even looked at a menu and she was not a server) She finished, and we looked at her and asked if we were supposed to choose...strange. We then started to go over the menu and a server brought something to the table next to us, the table 24 inches away, and proceeded to put her butt right in my face. The atmosphere also included basketball games on at that bar for us to enjoy, the lady at the table 24 inches away watching TikTok on her phone at full volume, and the server with the butt in the face...for what would have been a $250 night with a bottle of wine that we had planned to order. Fifteen minutes later, we've been in the restaurant for almost 40 minutes now, still no champagne, nor forced choice of soup and whoever was to be our server had still never made it to our table. My wife suggested we leave and I was in total agreement...we stood up and walked out. This was our experience for what was to be a romantic dinner on Valentine's Day. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision about patronizing this...
