Terrible service. First the staff lied to us about the price of our order. They ran out of our dessert and called us back as if it was OUR fault! After that I was told by an employee that our price would be more for the suggested replacment order who then proceeded to argue with me just before caving in. As I was assured no addl. Cost for a less desirable order. They lied again to my wife, (Who had no idea what was going on) as soon as she walked in the same flustered woman who had made the call said to my wife "I am not the one who made the call". When She came to realise the person picking up was not the same as the 1 on the phone just prior. The employee gasped with relief upon finding out the other half was there and not clued in. She told my wife she spoke to me and I had changed our desert and our minds. My wife paid for it and even tiped the lady who was so oddly overwhelmed. Only to get home and find out the receipt was with held and when I asked the price I found it 3.00 more. We called back out of princable and "Jenny" annswered and promoted her self from csr to manager to owner as she refused to honor her "employee's " word and stated she did not have the authority to do such a thing as refund the addl. $3.00 back. So we asked what can you do and why intentionally with hold our receipt only to argue about it when they knew we would be calling back. Jenny argued, belittled, and tortured us with disrespect. Finally a real manager got on the phone and worked something out with us in a calm polite manner.... I'm too stressed to eat my cold pick up order now. I'd not recommend the hassle of being disrespected for any sugar biscuits to anyone else either. Save your money and get it delivered from a place that will treat you better and save your self the agony of...
Read moreLet me get this out the way, I love Oriental House - this location and the Woodruff Rd. location. With that being said, I made a call-in order in March 13, 2021. It was a large order for my family. The person that took the order repeated it back to me with no mistakes or anything missing. In that order I asked for 6 veggie spring rolls. I get my order and as soon as I get situated in my Jeep, I take a bite of one of the veggie spring rolls. I take a look at the veggie spring roll and observed a piece of shrimp. I’m allergic to shrimp and shellfish. I immediately take it back into the restaurant to which they replace my spring rolls with the correct veggie spring rolls. So glad that I keep my epi-pen with me and that my symptoms were a mild tinkling and swollen face.
Edit: Since Google will not let me reply to your comment. I’ve never had an issue before at this restaurant when it comes to my orders or my allergy until this last time. I’ve always ordered veggie spring rolls and received the right order. When I ordered this time, I made sure of it twice and the person that took the order repeated back to me correctly. I am fully aware of my allergy and what I can and cannot eat. I don’t know why the mixup happened because the restaurant didn’t appear to be busy when I arrived to pickup my order. How am I supposed to believe your employees are going to make sure that my food allergy will be taken care of if they do not know the difference in regular spring rolls and veggie...
Read moreSeriously, Oriental House?!? Quit being so stingy with the white sauce. This is the second time it's been an issue for me. I spent $20 on a tempura sushi roll, house salad, and shrimp spring rolls and wanted a white sauce for my spring roll and was told it was extra AFTER I HAD PAID FOR MY MEAL. The hostess actually made me run my credit card a second time for $0.54 to buy white sauce. Didn't it used to just be on the table in a squeeze bottle??? If you're not going to offer it anymore to customers that have been around forever then maybe when the "server/hostess" takes an order they might need to ask if any sauces are needed so you don't irritate people. The first time I had spent over $80 on 4 hibachi dinners for DELIVERY and we got NO WHITE SAUCE AT ALL. It was very disappointing. So I called and was told it was my fault because I didn't ask for any. WHAT? Even Joy of Tokyo provides it by default so maybe I should order from them. Also.....what is with all the wasteful plastic to-go containers for dine in? Not very environmentally friendly and the dining room looked very trashy. I think I'm finally so irritated with this location that I won't be back. It's too bad because y'all...
