Iama Critic Rating - Corona Mexican Restaurant - 2 stars 1025 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC
Overall: Cold cardiovascular disease on a plate, terrible service. We have been to Corona a half dozen times and it just keeps getting worse. Time to quit going. Our Facebook picture gallery tells the whole story, go and check it out.
$5.59 Taco Salad - 3 stars Served strangely enough on a plate still dripping wet from the Hobart dish washer. So the bottom fell right out of it. Which is sad because this was the best thing Corona served us all night, even though the shell was only half full, the guacamole was boring and the tomato was a hard end piece. However, the meat was flavorful, there was not to much lettuce, and the shell would have been light and crispy perfect if it was not for the aforementioned wet plate.
You want a fantastic taco Salad, head to Chuy's Tex Mex, yea, it will cost you $8.79 but it is worth every penny.
$10.59 Steak Fajitas - 2 stars Served freezing cold, not sizzling on an iron platter. My guest was too disgusted to tell me what he thought of them, and as always, the entree was served with just three small tortillas, which is two too few. Some of the worse looking fajitas I have every seen,
$5.69 Big Bowl of Guacamole - 1 star Guacamole is just one of those things you have to order because, if made right, it is simply fantastic. But you won't get that at Corona, I do believe infants poop split pea soup that tastes better. We have had worse, but we wouldn't actually admit to eating it!
$11.49 Chori Pollo - 1 star Something has to be really terrible to earn 1 star! I mean we rarely give anything 1 star! But this entree earned every star it lost! Not only does this dish not even look anything like the picture in the menu, (see our picture gallery) but this is the worse tasting dish we have ordered in... forever. Don't get me wrong, the chicken breast had a great texture, the onions and peppers were cooked spot on. But the rest of the entree is awful. The chorizo was obviously cooked, I mean burnt, sometime last week, the cheese was so sticky you could not swallow it. And the GREASE, was simply OVERWHELMING! You could not taste anything but the grease. We could not finish the dish for shear fear of cardiovascular disease.
I took it home and put it in the fridge so I could use all that grease to lube my lawnmower!

Read moreThis was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. It is disappointing because Corona's has long been a favorite restaurant of mine and usually I have a very good experience when I dine there. However this particular location will never have my business again. I went there today with some of my coworkers for lunch. Our server couldn't be more bothered by us. In fact, the table next to us made a complaint about the same server while we were there. None of us received one drink refill the entire meal. Every request that was made had to be made three times before it was granted. Simple requests that included an order of queso and an extra menu. I know everyone can have a bad day so I left my tip like I normally would because I know that is a server's main source of income. However when I got to the register the cashier told me that our group still owed for a sweet tea and a cheese dip. Not one of us ordered a sweet tea (we had 3 sodas and 5 waters) and the cheese dip was not part of my order. She called the server over and they proceeded to go at in Spanish pointing at me and clearly talking about me as if I was not there. The cashier proceeded to tell me that the server would have to pay out of his pocket for these two things and that I should really pay for it. Normally I would have some empathy in a situation like this but the patronizing way she spoke to me after just talking about me in Spanish in front of my face sucked every bit of empathy out of me. My conscience got the best of me and I went ahead and paid for the two items in question even though they were in the wrong. As I was paying I explained that the service we received was not acceptable. The woman would not even look me in the eye and proceeded to snatch my money away from me. I'm not usually a confrontational person but I have never been so angry after leaving a restaurant. I also don't usually take the time to write reviews for restaurants but I felt like the public should know what type of people are working...
Read moreThis is the most UNPROFESSIONAL, NASTIEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO !! I originally eat at the Coronas on wade hampton & have no issues with them but this one on August rd has given me nothing but trouble . I ordered a quesadilla supreme and ate HALF of it before realizing there was a LONG piece of brown hair in my food & ended up in my mouth !!! I was LIVID soo I called up there and they told me they couldn’t give me a refund without the food when I CLEARLY had already threw the food away after discovering that nasty piece of hair in it. They hung up the phone on me so I went up there and told them that I was going to report them to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, LEAVE A BAD REVIEW & TAKE THEM TO CIVIL COURT & the manager finally gave in & gave me my refund back & he told me as long as he didn’t have to see me again ,like who in their right mind would come back to a restaurant after having such nastiest & trouble with them ... If I could give ZERO stars I would !!! DO NOT EAT...
