Unique Name, Unique Menu, and Plenty of Potential
Tacozzini is the kind of place that sparks curiosity the moment you see the menu. You just want to try everything. They took risks and it seems to have paid off. It’s bold, adventurous, and full of dishes that make you want to order one of everything. For breakfast, they truly shine—I can’t recommend the blueberry pancakes enough. Most breakfast items hit the mark with flavor and quality. Lunch, on the other hand, is more of a mixed bag. While their pretzel with sweet butter and creamy cheese is a standout family favorite, the chicken dishes are a disappointment. The what seems to be pre-cooked/chopped chicken lacks flavor and texture, often coming off as tough and oddly chewy at the same time, a clear weak point in an otherwise creative menu.
Service has been friendly, though timing can be inconsistent. It’s worth noting that this might be a family-run operation since we had a 14-year-old server one time. The restaurant’s decor, however, seems as confusing as its name, blending elements of a sports bar, Mexican eatery, and German restaurant in a way that feels more confusing than cohesive.
The outdoor seating could use some improvements as well. On warm days, the limited shade and lack of fans make dining outside uncomfortable, especially during the hotter months. Expect to cook like your food did.
Despite its quirks, Tacozzini has a lot going for it. The menu is undeniably fun and unique than most places off of Augusta, and there’s plenty more I’m excited to try on future visits—though I’ll likely steer clear of the chicken dishes. For those who appreciate creativity and are willing to take a few risks, it’s a spot...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience today (7/26/25) was frustrating enough to warrant one, especially since I couldn't find a manager to speak with.
We arrived at 11am when the restaurant opened and were seated immediately with five of us crammed into a booth meant for four. We asked for an extra chair, but the real problem was being placed directly next to a large reserved party of 14, in the same server’s section, even though the restaurant was nearly empty.
Once the large group arrived, it became incredibly loud and cramped. Their chairs backed right up to ours, forcing people to squeeze through and bump into us repeatedly. Conversation at our table became impossible.
Our food (avocado toast, kid’s pancake, two breakfast quesadillas, and breakfast tacos) took an hour to arrive. Coffee wasn’t even ready when we ordered drinks. Our poor server did his best, but clearly was overwhelmed and double-sat through no fault of his own.
The food was mediocre and didn’t make up for the chaos. I can’t imagine returning.
To management: Don’t seat five at a four-top, don’t double-seat a server with a large party, and please don’t stick guests—especially older ones—next to large, noisy groups when the restaurant has plenty of other...
Read moreWe went on a Saturday evening. Plenty of tables available. However their setup didn’t accommodate a table of 5 very well. They just added a chair to a booth, so it was a tad tight. Appetizer: Bavarian Pretzel. It was delicious. We would order this again.
Tacos: Mojo Chicken Tacos - Good flavor. We would order this again. Birria Tacos (monthly special) - good flavor. We would order this again. Caribbean Dreams - Decent flavor. I asked the server how spicy this was and I was told that it wasn’t spicy at all. It was pretty spicy. I would possibly order this again.
Pizza Kids Cheese Pizza - Not that great. My daughter said she would not want it again. Kids BBQ Chicken Pizza - Just ok. Daughter said it was spicier than she expected, but she would order it again.
There were only a few tables with customers and our server would be gone for long periods when we needed refills and our check at the end. I believe she was inexperienced so won’t criticize it too much.
Overall the food was just ok for being $15 per two tacos. It was good to try once, but given the price, quality and service, I doubt...
