Wow, what a truly underwhelming experience. I ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib. I wish I took a picture so you could see what it looked like-slop plopped down onto my plate. Worse, it was almost all fat. And I’m aware that this cut of meat tends to be fatty. But it was the texture and taste of a chuck roast that I make at home and I had literally 3 small, very small bites of meat. And they charged us $40 for this. The potatoes au gratin-bland. Tasted like nothing. My grandmother’s meal, they forgot to bring her spinach and when she asked for it, they brought out some spinach that had been quickly boiled with no seasoning. And it’s supposed to be lovely garlic sautéed spinach according to the menu. My grandfather loves a good French dip but the one he got from here- He said it was just alright, like something we could pick up at a fast-food joint. So for $123, not one person at the table had a stunning meal that we expected from a respectable dining establishment. The only thing that was enjoyable was the crab cakes, which my grandmother shared with me since I only had the 3 tiny bites of meat and was famished still. The atmosphere is nice, but I don’t care if the food tastes as disappointing as it did yesterday. I will not be returning and I suggest if you wanna drop $120 on your meal with your family that you cherish and want to share a good meal with, go...
Read moreI’m so glad I got to visit this place because it was one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in Greenville! The whipped goat cheese appetizer is a must. You gets loads of it so it’s great to share or to just eat yourself because you’re going to loooove it!
I came in about an hour before closing and the staff was all so friendly and checked on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed and to answer any questions about the menu. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with Parmesan fries and oh wow. It was spectacular. The spicy aioli was the perfect addition and just spicy enough without being overpowering. The fries were so crispy and had loads of Parmesan on them.
This is a great place for a special date night or just for when you want to make sure you get some good, comforting food. There are large booths and tables for big groups and plenty of smaller tables as well. There’s a large parking lot so don’t worry about finding a spot. It’s a quiet place with nice music and low lighting, but friendly and warm staff that makes you feel welcome.
I can’t wait to go back and...
Read moreThe food is always very delicious and I have no complaints about that aspect. I’ve never had to worry about not enjoying a meal at The Vista. I have however been greeted every single time by a hostess who is quite rude. I made a reservation for the patio, she gave it away before we got there (which wasn't originally a problem) but then she sat us in a corner table that is directly next to the POS system the staff uses. Therefore, during the entirety of our meal we are having the waitstaff right next to us putting orders in and closing bills.
I don’t have an issue with being sat somewhere else, but why have a table in corner where all of the employees are performing their jobs? Also, our waiter was very busy having very long conversations with all the other tables in his section and took around 10-15 mins to ask us for our Starter order.
This was my 4th time dining at The Vista in the last 4 months and...
