Oof, where to start with this one.
S&S has been one of our favorite places to come eat in Greenville for years now. Reasonable prices, good food, and stellar service especially Olga and Isabel. Sadly this place has been going down hill.
The menu line has not worked several times in the last month. Calling to ask if they have something is often met with attitude.
Next kitchen has issues, sometimes food just doesn't show up and no one seems to care. Once we came in at 11, my whole meal was backordered since nothing was ready. Waited 30 minutes for twice baked potatoes and garlic bread and finally just left and got items removed from bill. White shirt glasses guy (manager?) didn't seem to care. Meal was chicken tenders came after my wife was done eating and a drink. Nothing else showed. A good/caring manager would have gotten at least a substitute meal or something to go. Maybe even offer to comp it. We got nothing except a waitress who felt bad for us. This also sadly was not a one off.
Decor outside holidays which are well decorated is getting quite old. Place needs a serious remodel, carpet, wall paint, tables etc.
Lastly we traveled 45 minutes here once and no joke the place was closed for football. Maybe mount a TV in the kitchen if it's that important.
Understand, I love this place and want it to succeed. I Just know it might be time to shake up the management staff here if any corporate guys are reading. Standard are sliding and folks are...
Read moreI ate here years ago and wasn’t pleased, but decided to try it again with my daughter. We had to stand at the bar and wait for a while bc there was no one there to assist us. A man came out from the back and kept hollering that someone needed to help at the salad. He yelled repeatedly many times. It definitely wasn’t a professional feel. After a few mins, we were served and I asked for roast beef. I got my 2 sides and then was asked to take them and sit down and said they would be out with it shortly. There was a roast beef on the line, so not sure why I had to wait. I was hungry after a few mins and started eating before my sides got cold while waiting for my meat to come out. The food was very bland. Not sure why people go crazy over it. The collards were the only thing worth eating. Everything else needed salt badly. My daughter’s cake was overly dry and her baked spaghetti was mushy and bland also. We had to wait entirely too long to get refills. We also had to move seats bc the seat we sat in were broken and so was the table. There wasn’t many people in there so idk why it took so long to get refills. But nonetheless, I left hungry bc this was definitely not a satisfying meal. Also be careful adding sides and desserts bc each side is nearly $4 and it adds up. There is a price menu but it doesn’t explain things well to me. We paid $27 plus tip. Wasted. Not pleased...
Read moreI have heard many things about this little gem in Greenville, but had never made it to try. I wanted to try them for Thanksgiving a few years back, but never did so. So since moving a little closer to their location, subsequently I said, "Hey why not try it". The first time upon stumbling on this eatery. I came in, and placed my order. When I went back in to pick it up, I was a little disturbed by a altercation between the employees. Checking over the food in the restaurant, it looked as if my order was right.
Then I got home, and my order just seemed completely wrong. I called , and spoke with a woman who I presumed was the manager or owner her name was Kathy, she apologized for the horrible service, and offered to have the meal remade.
Following me coming back to get this remade meal. I had a different hostess by the name of Francys. She was amazing, her customer service was impeccable, and she made sure that I was done correctly. I want to make sure that her work definitely does not go unnoticed, and she is someone who deserves a raise for all of her hardwork.
The second go round the meal was a whole lot better than the first, and more...
