I called the restaurant to order 5 chicken Milanese to take away because it was my friend's birthday and he wanted that, the person who answered didn't seem to know if it was possible and made me wait a bit on the phone probably to ask if it was possible, after a while she answered ok, without asking me the name or the number, or when it would be ready, I had to tell her myself. I went to pick up the order after 20 minutes and at the cashier I discovered that they had only prepared one chicken, I told her that I had ordered 5 but she replied that no, that I had only ordered one. This made me more irritated than the mistake itself, luckily I had my friend with me who had witnessed my call. The girl offered to remake the order but I didn't have time to wait and we left. At home I opened the box and found a horrible piece of chicken, dry and over fried, inedible. The portion was much smaller than when I went to eat the same thing at the restaurant about 2 months ago, only the price remained the same. Total disappointment, I went back to get a refund because it was unacceptable to pay 30 dollars for a piece of fried chicken worse than KFC, and they didn't even consider me the first time I said hello because they were too busy watching the soccer match on TV! I really appreciated the quality and hospitality the first time I went, but it seems that things have changed now, I think this place should be better managed! I hope was a...
Read moreWe called La Bistro today to ask if we needed a reservation for lunch. The person on the phone told us they do not take reservations and that it’s first come, first served. Based on that information, our family of four got ready, took our chances, and showed up—fully prepared to wait if necessary. However, when we arrived, the hostess told us there were no tables available for the rest of the day and they do take reservations. Naturally, we were surprised and frustrated. When we explained that we had just called and were told the exact opposite, a second staff member stepped in and said they only take reservations I quote him “on a limited basis.” So, in reality, they do take reservations, despite what we were initially told. This inconsistency and poor communication were incredibly disappointing. We live within walking distance and were hoping this could become a new favorite spot, but this experience left a bad first impression before we even had a chance to eat there. A restaurant isn’t just about food—it’s about how they treat customers and handle their operations. Mismanagement like this makes people feel disrespected. Unfortunately, this left such a bad taste in our mouths that we...
Read moreMy family and I dined for lunch on a breezy Saturday afternoon. The restaurant had a very friendly and inviting atmosphere, very busy during the lunch hours! All the tables were filled; thankfully we had reservations for a 1pm lunch.
The menu boasts a great selection of salads, shared plates, entrees, burgers, soups with French, Asian and American flavors, a true amalgamation of the owners' culinary background. Even the pickiest eater would find something that fit their palate.
We decided to try a little bit of everything! We happily shared two French onion soups, which became a crowd favorite. Don't miss out on the cheese pull!! The Tiger Mom dumplings were delectable (Instagram favorite!), as were the crispy calamari. The shiso on the Ahi tuna burger made it light and fresh. My father loved the steak au poivre; Fusilli a la vodka was wonderful too. The staff was very attentive as we dined, our water glasses were never empty.
We finished off the meal with a Strawberry Guava entremet from the owner's other establishment, LadyWong; which also has a permanent home at La Bistro. Before we ended the meal, my family and I were already talking about what we'd order when we...
