I wanted to like this place more. I really did.
Pros: chicken tender, herbaceous, lemony building is lovely and staff are quite nice sauces are all very different, and quite tasty
Cons: not cheap. $58 with tax for a 4 person whole chicken family meal with 4 sides portions are VERY SMALL for what you pay. chicken skin not crisp, very soft (cooked yes, but too soft) cauliflower: undercooked, and only about 1 floret per person (see small serving size comment above)
Neither Pro nor Con: cucumber salad: it's just cut up English cucumbers with some fresh dill, which is fine. fries pretty good (although I prefer Wendy's) roti potatoes: overcooked, very soft, no crunch or texture to the skins (that's a personal preference thing, nothing particularly wrong here)
For comparison, Boston Market's whole chicken meal combo for 4 is $36. Way cheaper and of similar quality, plus they offer mac n cheese & mashed potatoes while Wildacre does not. I'm sure the Wildacre chickens are triple organic and get to listen to Mozart and get daily massages while the Boston Market chickens work in the coal mines, but still.
I'll be going back to Boston...
Read moreI love rotisserie chicken, but Wildacre’s chicken blows any I’ve had out of the park! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the delicious smell of their food, and it was impressive to see the whole oven on display behind the counter. My boyfriend and I ordered the half chicken to share, which was a perfect amount for us. The garlic dijonnaise was amazing, and we really liked the creamy tahini too! The roti potatoes were so flavorful from the chicken drippings, and don’t even get me started on the Brussels!! I read on the menu they use date syrup on them, and I think it makes all the difference, because these were quite possibly the best brussels I’ve ever had! We ordered their Pacifica salad as well. All of the ingredients were so fresh, and I loved the lemon dressing it came with! Their space is exceptionally clean, and the view of the pond behind is so pretty. Definitely getting the California vibes here, which is super unique to our area. The staff was all super friendly and assisted us in making the best choices with our order. We wish Wildacre the best...
Read moreI love rotisserie chicken, so I went in with high expectations—and it did not disappoint!
As soon as you walk in, you can see the ovens turning, cooking the chicken hot and fresh. I ordered the family meal for $54, which included a whole chicken, four sauces, and four sides. I chose the crispy Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, potatoes, and the "tasty rice"—though the rice wasn’t my favorite since it was a bit too minty for my taste. Other than that, the meal was fantastic. The chicken was juicy, the skin perfectly crispy, and every bite was flavorful.
I also tried some of their other offerings, including salads, a wrap, and wings—everything was seriously incredible. I was impressed...
