This place has been my go-to for Chinese food delivery for a while but they just lost a customer tonight. I placed an order online from their website and when it hadn't arrived after almost an hour, I called to check the status. The guy who answered the phone took my info and after saying "hold on" came back several minutes later and said that the order was out for delivery and should arrive any minute. He apologized saying that they had a big rush. After another 30 minutes of no food, I called again and was told that their records showed that the order just came in at 7:50, which is the time I called the first time after waiting almost an hour for my food; the original order was placed online at 7:04!!! I questioned him as to why I was told it was already out for delivery if, in fact, they had just received the order. He insisted that they just received it at 7:50. I pushed again since I was getting conflicting information and suddenly he said that the kitchen just told him that the order never came in at all, it certainly wasn't out for delivery, it had never even been made!!! So the guy lied to me twice evidently just to get me off the phone. When I told him to just cancel the order and refund me, he said that the restaurant is separate from the online ordering company - the same company that is listed on their website by the way - and that he couldn't even tell if I'd been charged and he couldn't refund it if I had. This place obviously has a weird way of doing business and I'd recommend that anyone who wants their food on time from a decent business find...
Read moreI ordered tonight as a customer, but I've also been working here for many years and I KNOW we are hands down the best quality to price ratio you will find in the area. I've also seen some of the common complaints, which are primarily hands-off delivery issues. Here are some quick tips:
If you get anything crispy (sesame, orange, sweet/sour, wontons, etc) for delivery, it is going to lose a fair amount of the crispiness by the time it gets to you; that's just how crispy food works, period. However, most of the foods also get more complex-tasting and arguably tastier as they naturally get "mushy" or "soggy", because the flavors mix, so YMMV.
To counteract this entire effect, you could:
A) Pre-heat your oven to about 410° while you wait, then throw your crispy foods on an oiled, pre-heated tray for no longer than 8 minutes once it's there,
B) If getting a chicken dish, get dark meat as the higher oil content and lower water in the chicken will keep it MUCH crispier for longer (this is true for dine-in too), or...
C) Stop ordering crispy items and ignorantly complaining that they're soggy and chewy by the time they've steamed themselves on their way to you. If you care THIS MUCH about crispy items, you should just dine in for the best experience. I say this with as much love for our loyal customers that I can, btw... now you know!
P.S. Late delivery time complaints and occasional mixups, we own; there's a delicate balance of busy enough and TOO busy during the...
Read moreI give 2 stars because the prices weren't too bad for what was served and the egg drop soup had tofu in it which was a plus. To describe the other dishes: the fried rice was bland, pretty sure they tossed day old rice in a pan and pulled it out 30 seconds later with no other additions to the cooking process. cheese wontons were pretty much empty and poorly folded before frying. I've made significantly better at home (set the smoke detector off though) Kung pao chicken was bland and I thought I had ordered the vegetarian version somehow. was 90% veggies and 10% chicken if that. bigger complaint on this dish was that the peppers had to have been tossed in after and the dish was not cooked with the peppers involved. the flavors did not blend across and all the spice was still in the peppers which led to the Kung pao veggie dish tasting very meh. I might have given them another shot had this basic part of the cooking process hit differently, skimping on chicken may have been an issue with ordering the combo. but it isn't even worth trying other dishes if this is how they infuse spice in...
