Pretty underwhelmed by the meal I just ate from the Dumpling Factory. My girlfriend and I were on our way to dinner when we saw this place and decided to order take out from here and eat at home instead.
The dumplings were just ok.
The scallion pancakes were also just ok.
The tonkatsu ramen was AWFUL. Don't think anyone would charge 13 bucks for a bowl of salty milk, but this tastes nothing like ramen, so I think they might?
There is no umami quality to it at all, just salt. Think they skipped the bone broth or something. Maybe it's a powder mix? They served it with 2 tiny pieces of pork that tasted like Chinese 5 spice rather than ramen pork belly, one piece of bok choy, and half a hard boiled egg.
We didn't even finish what we brought home and are now ordering our dinner elsewhere.
This place is right across the street from me, but I will not be...
Read moreStopped by yesterday for the first time. Ordered pork buns, fried beef dumplings, steamed soup dumplings and a couple of drinks. Ordered for dine in but everything was packaged to go. First off, very very small portion of filling in the dumplings. All 12 of the beef dumplings were stuck together in the to go container. When you tried to get one, it tore 2 or three others in the container. That Ieft us picking filling out all by itself and trying to place it back into a ripped pouch to then dip in sauce. The pork buns were the smallest I have ever seen. Maybe 2 bites per, maybe. Steamed soup dumplings were hot and delicious. It does not take much to present prepared food in a way that prevents the sticking of dumplings together. Disappointed for the...

I'll update this review once I try the right things because I think that was my problem. But I tried the beef dumplings (fried) and the salt and pepper chicken. They were well-made and tasted ok, but they need a lot more spice. The chicken was totally plain and needs more seasoning in general. I'm giving it 4 stars because it's still better than most other Chinese spots in the area, but I was a little disappointed. Next time, I'll try the oil splashed noodles because those look like they have a little heat to them. I'll also try the dumplings steamed because that might help the flavor. I wish they offered spicy chili oil as a...
