Morning Story - DTC — Restaurant in Greenwood Village

I’m disappointed to say, I wasn’t impressed. The moment we sat down, we didn’t see our waitress for 10 minutes. I’ll give her props that she apologized when she came over and gave us a cinnamon roll on the house. But honestly, we had a rough experience here and I’ll give them some grace because it was Father’s Day weekend.

And before I jump into my reviews, you should know they automatically put a 20% tip on your bill, which is sad because our waitress was never around, half our orders were wrong and we had to start sharing water because we couldn’t get anyone’s attention.

😭Cinnamon roll: 2/10

☕️ Iced Coffee flight: 0/10 (it was garbage. None of them were good and that’s saying it lightly. Everyone at the table tried them and no one was happy. 🤍 Vanilla: there’s no way. It didn’t taste like vanilla at all and it was literally a watered down espresso 🧡Caramel: thank goodness for some flavor but this one doesn’t make up for how poorly they were made 🖤 Mocha: I’m not a huge fan of mocha to begin with but this was the worst one I’ve had. It was 100% bitter but not even coffee bitter, so it tasted like they gave us watered down dark chocolate powder to try 🤎Hazelnut: this was their seasonal flavor and it’s a bummer because most of us are allergic to hazelnut so next time I’ll need to make sure to ask what the seasonal flavor is beforehand

Oh and I was surprised by their bathrooms. They are only one person, so you wait in the hall until it’s free, which can cause a backup into the restaurant space. But they aren’t gender specific, so it’s one line...

The manger who seated us was super kind. We are foster parents with 3 kiddos under 5 years old plus a 9 year old so we’re a big group. She sat us at a nice table and was super friendly, making sure the kiddos had everything they needed.

However our waiter, Marshall appeared bothered with such a large group even though it was over 1.5 hours before closing time. I mentioned it was my husband’s birthday and he didn’t even echo the sentiment which was very rude. We ordered 2 of the maple bacon flights and they were obviously sriracha as they had the sesame oil and had 0 sweetness. When this was brought to his attention he rudely said “what would you like me to do, take it off the check? What?” Taken aback, I asked him politely to bring us the actual maple bacon and he assured us this was it. I assured him that it was not as I had visited this restaurant before and knew what it tasted like. I told him not to worry about it as the negative energy didn’t suit me. The rest of the food was great but Marshall’s passive aggressive attitude really ruined our brunch.

We are trying to expose children who may not ever get the experience of eating out in different settings and to the joy of tasting different foods. Marshall was still gifted with a generous tip and we would definitely recommend this establishment but we will make sure that he isn’t our server again. The food was good but do not expect anything else. Came here around 12 and was able to sit right away with 4 adults. Took some time, but our waiter finally came and dropped off water. After a while, he came back and took our drink order. After some time, some of our drinks started showing up. The coffee flight showed up first, then the old fashion soda flight. Most of the pictures you see online are not the old fashion soda flight. Way different and tasted terrible. If you like soda water with a very little amount of flavoring, it's just right for you. Now I might have known this if my waiter explained anything. So finally all our drinks but one came out. I got the BFG, son got the oatmeal, and kids got waffles. Food tasted great, I do wish the BFG burrito had the cheese sauce inside because it gets dry. Now, since I didn't like my soda flight, I did order the mimosa flight, and that's what most of the pictures are online. It was okay. I wish it had more juice, but it was okay. Now that where almost done here comes my sons vegetable drink. Something like kale and apple. Anyways it took over an hour for them to make this. They did cover the cost of it, but wow, 1 drink took that long. For the atmosphere wasn't impressed. Would I come here again. Maybe. I would not go out of my way, but if I was already in the neighborhood. Definitely would not be my...
