My girlfriend and I celebrated our three year anniversary this past Wednesday, April 3rd at the Denver location within the Tech Center.
Our experience began well, with the front of house staff being welcoming and our server being great throughout the duration of our meal. Unfortunately our sense of welcoming stopped there. My girlfriend didn't like the Chilean Sea Bass and I let our server know, and she was very kind, as she cleared our dishes to box up everything except for the Sea Bass which she left on the table. A few moments later another member of the waitstaff came by to ask if we wanted the sea bass boxed. We informed him that we didn't like it, and he became rather rude to my girlfriend. He continued to question her about what she didn't like about it, as he developed quite a rude tone. He ended the conversation with a scoff. My girlfriend had to leave the table and go to the bathroom where she cried because of the conversation. Thankfully the meal was taken off our check. I didn't speak with a manager at the request of my girlfriend.
There a few things that troubled me about this visit. Firstly, and most obviously is the sheer lack of professionalism that the server presented us with. I work in the restaurant industry as a server as well. The restaurant I work in doesn't have the luxurious atmosphere that Del Friscos, nonetheless I would never treat a guest the way that server did. With the prestige that Del Friscos has, I would expect that they have a professional waitstaff to uphold and protect that prestige. Furthermore we spent in excess of $250 without the sea bass on our bill. Being treated so poorly while spending so much money leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. Secondly, both my girlfriend and I are young adults where spending so much money is a decision we have to make weeks in advance. We thought our third year anniversary would be one of the few justifiable reasons to spend this kind of money. Had our experience been better, the money wouldn't have been an issue, but spending so much money only to have an experience comparable to Denny's is inexcusable.
I contacted the restaurant a few days later to let them know of my gripes. I was called back today by a manager. She informed that the server who treated my girlfriend so poorly was talked to and that he would learn from this mistake. The manager offered me a gift card if we ever decided to return in order to right their wrongs. I thought the manager very appropriately handled the situation and I'm thankful she followed up with me. That being said we don't plan on returning because of our horrible experience.
I encourage anyone reading this review to be wary of dining here due to the steep prices and poor...
Read moreI have maybe written 3 or 4 reviews in my entire life but decided I needed to give credit where it's due. Last year on July 31, 2021 my wife and I were married in the cigar lounge at Del Frisco's in Denver. Eden, the events manager did an amazing job planning our event and had such attention to detail. We could not have asked for someone better to ensure we had an amazing wedding day. The food was delicious and the staff are second to none. One of the dessert options we had was a chocolate fondue fountain for our five kiddos, in addition to cheesecake, butter cake, and delicious cannoli's that Eden had specially made for me because I'm from NY and they remind me of home. However, my two youngest daughters ages 6 & 7, love marshmallows and asked the wait staff if they had any in the kitchen. This was not something that was on our menu but the kids asked without my wife and I knowing. Turns out the restaurant didn't have any marshmallows on hand, which was totally fine. I didn't expect them to make special accommodations for the kids but then the staff and manager really showed why they are in a league of their own. Without us knowing, the manager drove to the nearest supermarket and picked up two large bags of marshmallows (big and small) for our daughters. I have never seen any restaurant go out of their way like this. We were already impressed with everything but that gesture made us absolutely love and adore the people that work at Del Frisco's and make every event so special.
Two days ago my wife and I went back there to celebrate our one year anniversary. I booked my reservation with Eden, who to my surprise remembered us. We just expected a regular night of dinner but Eden went out of her way to make it very special. She sat us alone in the cigar lounge (The room we were married in) and she left special instructions with the wait staff that butter cake is my wife's favorite dessert (Clearly she has an incredible memory and her attention to detail is amazing). We were met with smiles from the staff and two champagne flutes waiting for us to do a celebratory toast. Our waiter was incredible and made our night even more special than anticipated. Eden and the staff at Del Frisco's once again outdid themselves and will always have a special place in our hearts for being the amazing people they are. Thank you for helping us celebrate our one year anniversary in such a special way. Keep up the great work and continue to set the standard in the food, beverage, and service industry. To Eden, you are by far the best at what you do. Thank you so much for everything you have done for our...
Read moreWHAT A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE! I would give this joke of an establishment 0 stars if that was an option because of how disgusting we were treated. My mother booked a semi private room 3 MONTHS in advance for my sister wedding reception. She called every single week for 3 months to make sure everything would go smoothly and she even received a call that morning to confirm that the table would be set as she requested including flowers, candles and confetti. Upon arrival for our 6:00 p.m. reservation we were told by the hostess that another party was at our table... excuse me? She even admitted that they over booked that evening!! After 20 minutes of excuses by their unqualified assistant manager we were brought to a different table in the middle of a crowded room which is NOT what was requested. After again asking them when the original table would be ready we waited an additional 20 minutes. We were seated and it was extremely uncomfortable. The service was rushed, and you could tell the wait staff was uncomfortable serving us. It took over an HOUR AND A HALF for the head manager to come over and see how we were doing even though it was expressed how extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable they made us feel. His exact words were “ someone asked me to check on you but you all seem fine” No apology, did not ask if there was anything he could do to make our experience more enjoyable NOTHING. We waited additional hour to receive our appetizers!! We are NOT the type of people to complain but if you are coming for a wedding reception wouldn’t you think they would be a bit more apologetic? The wait staff also came in like vultures and cleared away dinner plates before the entire table was done!! In asking to speak to head management a second time and telling them the service and experience was unacceptable and as he saw my beautiful sister who just got married in tears he told us “ well you can pay the check or I will call the police because of your actions” CALL THE POLICE ON US?? WOW. For your horrific service?! All we wanted to do was celebrate and have an enjoyable night! He also told us we were never welcome again. What an extremely cowardly move. The police officers could not have been kinder to us and asked us if anyone was hurt and completely understood why we were upset so I do want to commend them for their service that evening. All and all we would never in our lives ever step foot in this establishment again after they ruined my sisters wedding evening and we will be...
