This was the worst Subway experience I've ever had in my life, and we visit Subway restaurants quite a lot.
First, we ordered on the app (Subway REALLY wants you to do that, so okay...), and the address on the app didn't match the address at the store, so we weren't even sure we were in the right location. We asked the employee (who was quite abrupt, if not rude) if we were at the right place, and he just shrugged and pointed at the address on the door. Second, that same employee made it clear that he was bothered that we placed such a "large" order (5 sandwiches? What can I say; my family has 5 people in it...), and said, "This is going to take a long time. I'm the only one here." I thought, why is he saying this to a customer? Isn't this clearly a conversation he should have with his manager or owner?
Other customers trickled in while we were waiting for him to make our order (20 minutes after placing our order online, he was just getting started), and he made it a point to somewhat loudly proclaim, "It's going to be a while. I have a large order and I'm the only one here!" Wow.
We finally received our order, and when we checked it, we immediately could tell he had made mistakes: wrong toppings, wrong sauces, etc., and the portions were also remarkably skimpy. Not only that, but the bread was hard and stale. He offered no apology. A business is only as good as its employees, am I right?
What's even worse, I tried contacting Subway's customer service department, and the only available option is to fill out a web form on their website. This proved to be a complete waste of time. After three weeks and as many inquiries, I'm still waiting for the promised email from Subway. I also tried calling the location during regular business hours a couple of times to try resolving these issues with a live human, and the line immediately plays a message stating, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed...". Great stuff there, leadership...
I sincerely doubt that my family and I will ever visit this location again, and you should probably skip it too. There are better locations not that far away, like the one at 8223 S. Quebec. We went there yesterday, and it was simply one of the best Subway experiences we've ever had. They do everything the way it should be done by all Subway restaurants.
P.s. Doesn't it speak volumes that the owner never responds to his store's reviews -- neither good nor bad? I'm not in the habit of roasting a business because it's fun and I have nothing better to do, and I always ask for feedback from my leadership so I can constantly improve professionally. This owner (these owners?) just don't...
Read moreSo I come to this subway pretty frequently but there was a gentleman on the 23rd working behind the counter who, to be frank, I've never had a pleasant experience with. When I came in be was sitting at a booth texting which, hey I get it when the day is slow and all, but was not greeted and he decided to finish his texts before shuffling up and towards the counter. He grunted "what do you want" and when I ordered he didn't ask what kind of bread, veggies or sauces I wanted. He just slapped it together in such a way that when I opened the sandwich I would have had an easier time eating it with a knife and fork. He went to the register to charge me and once it was up for me to put my card in, he just walked away without any other customers in the store. This is far from the first time this has happened either. This guy always either makes the wrong sandwich or doesn't ask what ingredients I want on my meal.
To be honest there's times I come in and he'll just sit there for a few minutes at the table and I'm not sure what he does. All the tables were dirty and a lot of the ingredients for low or out and it wasn't even close to closing the guy is just lazy and disrespectful and it's gotten to the point where if I see him behind the counter I'll just find somewhere...
Read moreEvery time I come here for lunch during lunch time I can expect that it's going to be at least a 30 minute wait. Today I came in there and found out while I was about 5th in line that they had very little bread and were missing several other items from their line as well, now while I recognize that that was probably the previous shift not doing what they were supposed to do to make sure that the store ran smoothly the next day, the two people working there said that they did not have any time to make a sign to allow people to know about the things that they did not have and avoid a line of people who want things that they don't have. They were arguing with one customer about the sign, after she waited 30 mins to find out they didn't have what she wanted to order. Literally it takes 5 mins to make a list, and print a word doc or write a sign and hang it on the door, so they need to do that. It would make their lives easier to do so as well. Also the app was not working at all today. Hopefully my next visit to this Subway will be better since I undoubtedly will come back since...
