My best friend and I were in the Denver Tech area over the weekend (Thu-Mon) for his cousin's wedding. His whole family was staying at the Double Tree nearby, but I wanted to save a little money and have always been a huge fan of Hyatt Place hotels (stayed in 4 in the past), so I booked this one instead.
Overall, the experience was alright. They have definitely upgraded their breakfast quite a bit, and man do I love breakfast! Their skillet offerings include French toast (this was pretty meh until our last day for some reason--actually fluffy that day), and a variety of egg/egg sandwiches/sausage options. There's also oatmeal with all the toppings available on the side, cereals, fruits, yogurts, cottage cheese, and their Bread Box, which had some tasty pastries, donuts, etc. Drinks provided included a variety of juices, milks, coffees & teas. I was there every morning and always left with a happy tummy! The only thing I'd say they were missing is a nice waffle (love the ones where you get to make them yourself in a waffle iron), but I suppose we can't have everything on the vast list of potential breakfast offerings.
To be honest, there's not terribly much to do in the DTC area, so I found time to take advantage of their fitness center a couple of times. It's alright--pretty limited: two treadmills, an exercise bike, an elliptical, a workout bench, and a set of weights. I preferred running outside, which I did the first morning (weather and neighborhood were GORGEOUS!), but I strained my knee a bit, so I took it easy and just did the exercise bike the rest of the days. The nice thing is that they had little bottles of water, antibacterial wipes, and towels available in the fitness center. Even better though is their pool! It was empty when I went, so I was able to get in quite a few laps without being disturbed.
The staff was also very friendly and helpful, and I very much appreciate their efforts to rectify the issues we had. ...Which leads me to our problems. The first one is that our fridge did not refrigerate. It was not at all cold, which we discovered only after we already had our lunch in there for a few hours and were about to place our dinner leftovers in there. Fortunately, the staff offered to let us put our food in their fridge. I did have to go back the next day to mention it again before they put in an order for a new fridge in our room. Good news is they did get us a new fridge; really bleh news is that it didn't fit the original space, so it was just sitting out and was really inconvenient as it took up a lot of room and really kind of ruined the ambience of the sitting room. :/ Our second issue was that our window (by the bed, leading directly outside) didn't close properly. I discovered this the second night when I was finally curious enough as to why it was so drafty & cold and why the outside noises were so clear. They fixed this along with bringing in the oversized fridge, but then I found a dead mosquito on the A/C unit under the window...
Well, the staff certainly tried to make up for it, and the hotel does offer some pretty convenient services for free/cheap/borrow if you forget anything via their Odds & Ends menu. We ran out of toothpaste, and they were able to provide us with a mini-tube at no charge! Really not the best Hyatt Place experience, but I'd give their other locations a shot in the...
Read moreLiterally irate . This entire experience was HORRIBLE. Had a notebook booked from online online site that discount the right a little bit, I would demand a refund, and not stay here . We need a place to stay for the evening, and found a semi decent rate around 135 ( still steep for myself ) but compared to the other 2 to 3 star hotels, seeing that it was the Hyatt reassured that it was worth cost. Hi has stayed with Hyatt before at other locations and they are a great hotel, normally. I booked this online due to the discount, And brought my children here for the night. The moment I got up to the front desk, The lady working was absolutely unprofessional, extremely rude, careless, and altogether mean. Upon helping helping me, I asked her if she would like my confirmation number, make it easier to find my reservation. She made a very rude smart comment, first mentioning they don’t really use confirmation numbers...... she made a rude comment about my reservation being another last-minute stay for the night.... this was her statement exact “ don’t tell me you’re another last-minute reservation from another site?” What is with you people doing last-minute reservations off of these other sites? Then she proceeded to ask me why I booked last minute and if there was a reason I needed a room tonight instead of basically planning in advance? I explained we left a very sticky situation tonight and need a place to go, and then she proceeded to continue helping me. She told me she has my credit card, which I informed her that I paid already, and again another smart remark. I asked if she was just charging me for incidentals, and she was extremely rude mentioning that she know how to do everything by hand and go into the system and type everything in because I booked online. Had an attitude, and was not happy that she had to help me type it all in. It took a moment because I could not find my credit card, which she proceeded to tell me she could not help me if I didn’t have one, even though I already paid online... I asked her if I could show her a picture and she would not help me unless I have a physical card, which again I completely understand that being part of her job..... however her carelessness and how rude she is to her guests, was not appreciated. She explained parking, where my room was located, and that breakfast would be a muffin or something packed . She then proceeded to tell me to fill out the parking pass, and I was about to leave to go fill it out and she made yet another comment about not forgetting my ID because I don’t need to lose another item tonight. I’m baffled at the level of unprofessionalism, and how mean she is to paying customers. I let it be, because my children and I are exhausted - I then come up to my room, there is some gross wet spot on the couch, and dead bugs n one of the beds . This is disgusting, and I have photos and plan to call coorperate, immediately. I wanted to go down and complain to her directly, but after how rude she was and how she clearly does not care about her customers I can tell you I do not believe she would do anything for us therefore I believe I need to go to her superiors. The woman we dealt with tonight’s name is Carolyn . Rude on the phone when we initially called, and rude theought he check in .very disturbing to...
Read moreI booked a month long stay here and paid several grand to do so. Regardless of the amount of money spent.. when you go to a hotel, it should be clean. The first room I was given had dried blood, sticky stains, and long black hairs. When I told the front desk lady what was going on she handed me sheets and told me to change them. I asked for another room as I wouldn’t be changing the sheets in a room that was dirty prior to check in. She went and got another room, upon walking into the new room there were used utensils on the floor and more long black hairs in all of the sheets. The front desk lady was in the room checking it out with me and not once apologized. When I said this is completely unacceptable on any day but especially during a pandemic. She instead responded saying she also works for the health department and would never stay in either of those rooms. Again no apology. She then proceeded to say she’s had guests catch and being bed bugs to her from their rooms. I told her I would be checking out immediately and asked for the managers contact information. Ryan Brown, the manager, called the next day to not apologize either but to inform me I had not been checked out the night before. I explained the entire situation and emailed him the photos and once again was not given an apology. This place is absolutely repulsive as well as extremely poor managed. Bed side manners are nonexistent.. pun intended. I would literally stay anywhere else than step foot in this...
