El Beso Greenwood — Restaurant in Greenwood

When the restaurant changed over from 3 agaves I was upset, since it was our favorite place. But we gave it a chance. The new menu looks alright..some vegetarian options were removed which is sad but manageable. The shrimp cocktail that used to be so nice and light and refreshing now tastes like the sauce comes out of a can. It's almost sickly sweet and heavy on my stomach. The avocado is sliced thin instead of the big chunks I loved from before and with the sauce it's almost impossible to taste anyway. Even the shrimp seems lower quality. The crackers changed from nice ones to cheap broken saltines too. All of this and the price was raised. It was real sad since that shrimp cocktail was my motivation for going to 3 agaves as frequently as we did.

I also wish the candy wasn't removed. I feel like the staff aren't even as happy now. The whole vibe...

We were visiting the area & decided to stop here for dinner. I sat in the parking lot, reading these reviews and was a little bit hesitant. However, I am so glad that we decided to go in! The service? Excellent! The food? Great! Everything was fresh. I mean, down to every little piece of tomato in the pico. The guacamole was bright green and delicious. The chips were warm, the salsa was delish. We both got dinners, guacamole, and two drinks and our bill was only $36. Not sure what’s going on with these reviews, but we had zero complaints. We were dismayed when we headed out to our favorite restaurant and saw it was marked permanently closed. We headed over anyway, hoping it was wrong. I am happy to report that while the name has changed, the staff and the flavor the kitchen packs into every bite is still the same. I recommend these guys to everyone I know.

Edit 7/23/25 Unfortunately I am having to change my review and rating. Since our previous review, all the old staff is gone, prices are up, quality of ingredients is down, and flavor is gone. It's too bad. If anyone knows where the old staff went, I'm really going to...
