This place used to be good but i am unsure of what happened. We had received our food around 3 pm & went out into the parking lot to eat. I take 2 bites of my frisco melt and there is a (what appears to be) BEARD! hair in it. We immediately take it back inside and ask for a refund. They agree our meal should be comped but tell us we need to come back later around 5 pm because there isn’t a manager on shift right now. We live a little far out from this place so we don’t make it back until around 8ish pm. The lady there tells us we need to “Call Headquarters” because refunds cannot be done on different shifts. Needs to be given on the same shift. We can either call headquarters or come back in the morning to talk to the GM. We even brought our receipt with us to show that it’s the same day. So why was there no manager when we were there? Why did we get told to come back later ? What a joke of a steak ‘n shake. Line always takes long, food is so greasy now, and obviously poor customer service. What is a $15 meal to a billion dollar company? What.A.Joke. You guys are the ones letting HAIR! Fall into food then not resolving it. Asking if we want our food remade after we told you it made us lose our appetite and didn’t eat the meal. Read moreFor the last 4 years or so, Steak & Shake has struck me as a business chain of increasingly declining quality, and this particular location only serves to prove my point with flying colors. I generally try to give food service workers the benefit of the doubt, especially during the so-called lunch rush, but there were only a few cars in the parking lot when I arrived at a quarter after noon, and I sat at the order speaker for over 5 minutes in silence after announcing myself until someone took my order, and then sat at the drive-thru window for an additional 20 minutes until my order was complete and handed to me.
The apathy of the employees here was absolutely palpable. I asked for some ketchup after receiving my bag, and the employee wordlessly walked away, I assumed to get my ketchup, then returned almost 4 minutes later when he saw I was still sitting at the window. I asked for ketchups again, along with my receipt, so I could fill out the customer satisfaction survey. I imagine most people would have asked to speak to a manager, but I am both a patient and hungry customer, so I'd prefer to share my thoughts on an open forum. Read moreFood taste good but was NOT exactly as ordered. Cheeseburger had no cheese on it and a hamburger, that was supposed to have heavy onion, only had 3 small slivers. Otherwise the food was ok. Service left a lot to be desired. 2 Shakes were ordered to go but 1 was delivered to the table in their glass and server, instead of poring it into a to go cup then bring it to the table, just brought a to go cup to me and had me do it which made a mess. They were NOT busy at all in fact when we entered the restaurant we were the only customers visible. Seeing as how the server only had the 2 of us to start with at 4:45 pm our service and food should have been perfect. Are servers not taught to check the food before delivering it to the table? If the answer is no then this is a management issue if they are the this male server needs retraining.
