This was the first time I have ever visited a "HomeGoods" store before; their selection of products is vast and their prices are pretty reasonable. After searching all day at various stores, I finally found a very large wall-clock and a great deal at HomeGoods! I was surprised to see such a large line for the checkout but it moved at a brisk pace and they even announced which registers are available which I quite liked and the cashier was very nice.
However my excitement for the clock was short lived as literal seconds after I exited the store the cardboard handle on the box of the clock broke (the clock had been carried via the packing's handle just fine until that point) and the clock shattered just a few feet from the front door of the store. We picked up the glass and then decided to go back inside to see if there was anything that could be done for the clock we had bought not even 60 earlier. An employee was beside the door and said "she knew the whole situation" (I knew some other customers witness what had happened and I suppose either she saw it too or was told by others) and talked with someone in her earpiece until we were ultimately told there was nothing they could do. No refund or replacement, not super surprised by that but then that was it. There was no offer to check and see if they had another clock in stock (either at full price or discounted due to the malfunctioning merch side housing); no attempt was made to do anything. I wasn't sure what kind of answer we would get, but I feel the ball (or clock rather) was dropped here in terms of service & satisfaction (happy to help before you have spent your money, but seems like not after...)
When I first entered the store, I was thrilled about the prospect of future trips to this store to find just the right items for my new home. However, I am not sure if I will consider shopping here in the future due to the lack of customer service and somewhat questionable product packing / quality. However the other aspects of this visit were pretty good which is why I gave it a 3...
Read moreYesterday, 11/25/2020, I went in and had my virtual card ready to pay at the register. I pulled it up, and in letters RIGHT BELOW the virtual card, it reads "Your digital card is available for use at any T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra, and Homesense location. Present the card to the sales associates to key in at the register."
The associate and her dim coworker kept trying to "tap to pay" the card, even after I pointed out the text. After getting in touch with her manager, trying to tap the card again, and swiping open my Samsung pay and proceeding to try to use another credit card of mine without my authorization, she finally listened after my third time of pointing out that it says "key in at the register." I am making sure the employee did not authorize it on my other credit card so I am not charged twice, because I will be coming up there and wanting to talk to whoever is above the store manager that was clearly too busy to be up front with the employees, of which he or she has neglected to...
Read moreI bought a comfter at your store in Greenwood Indiana. I decided today to use it on the bed. I frist put it in the dryer low heat. When I went to take it out Shock to say the least. It was tore up. The so called stuffing came out and it was Sawdust Wood Chips and Dryer Sheets. Unfortunally for me I paid cash a hundred dollors and could not find my reciept. But for that very reason Will Not Shop at any of uour Stores. I realize that things happen but it seems like there would be away to check to see what type of materials are used to produce these. You bet I had a Mess to Clean Up inside my Dryer. I just threw it away and said next time I will Buy From JC Penny or Bed Bath and Beyond it may cost more but at least I know what Iam getting. Instead of a one should be a Zero. At least thanks...
