We have been coming here for months now. Itâs my daughterâs favorite place! Tonight we finally came on a Monday night. On Mondayâs kids are suppose to eat for 99 cents with the purchase of an adult meal. I purchased two adults meals, one for myself and one for to-go for my husband. Then I had two kids meals in the restaurant for my two daughters. My husbandâs meal was brought out to the table instead of being made as a to-go order. No big deal, it just had to be boxed and they took it back and boxed it for me. Then they forgot my husbandâs extra side, luckily I thought to check the bag just to make sure it was right. Then it took three different times for us to get the right bread for our to-go order. We kept getting the jalapeño cornbread, and we just wanted regular cornbread. Anyways, after all this itâs still wasnât a big deal. Once I received the bill and saw I was charged full price for each of the kids meals. I asked, and they said you had to go up front for it to be taken care of. So I went to the register to pay and have our bill fixed with the promotion for the kids meals. Once I paid, I finally got the correct receipt with the kids meals discounted. As Iâm looking over it, the kids meals are listed at $3.48 each instead of the 99 cents each. I asked the cashier and she didnât know, so she went to ask someone else. I finally got the answer that it was because the kids had Coke and Dr. Pepper with their meals instead of tea or lemonade. If I had known it would be $2.50 each extra, my kids would have gotten tea or lemonade. I was not made aware by our waitress that soda was an up charge for kids on their discounted Monday nights. Itâs not listed that way on the board at ALL! Itâs only listed that kids eat for 99 cents with a purchase of an adult meal per kid meal! Honestly we love the food here, but after tonight Iâm not sure when or if we will be back. If you can not honor your word, then whatâs the point of us supporting...
Read moreThis place isn't worth going to based off my experience. First of all they left us waiting at the front with a sign saying wait to be seated only for the girl to come over and be like "You can sit wherever you want." Gee thanks after I've been standing here for 5 minutes! Sit down and wait close to 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and take our drink orders which she doesn't bring back for another 10 or more minutes. She then tries to walk off and my husband tells her we would like to go ahead and order as we've had more than enough time to decide. She acted like that annoyed her but took the order. We got here around 3:15 and didn't leave until nearly 5! That whole time spent waiting for the tasteless mess that came out. The waitress came by four times the entire time we were there. To take our drink order and food order, give us our cold food and then the check. Now onto the food ordeal. Myself, my husband and my daughter all ordered the calabash chicken tenders with macaroni, green beans for me and fries for my husband. I got 4 tenders and my husband only got three. What's up with that?? The portion is obviously very small. It all came out barely warm and the macaroni was cold. The macaroni was literally a tiny bit of noodles buried underneath a piece of shredded cheese blanket. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. The green beans had a sweet perfume taste to them and the fries were just potato sticks. No seasoning to be found anywhere on anything. The cornbread is sweet as advertised but that's it. Just a plain sweet as sugar piece of bland bread. The garlic cheese biscuit was definitely garlicky if you're into that and just a dry crumbly mouth full of garlic and that's it. This place is clearly targeted towards older people who can't stomach any seasoning. The staff wasn't helpful and they weren't courteous. Wish I could get my money and time wasted back from this monstrosity....
Read moreWe have been here for lunch and dinner before and slowly the quality of the food and the ability of the kitchen staff to cook a decent meal, have gone downhill. We use to really like their yeast rolls, but the price for one of them is a little ridiculous, especially when some of them come out as just a pocket of air. The food has literally made my father in law physically ill before, so we decided not to go back for a long time in hopes that the food quality would improve one day.
Recently we were looking for a breakfast place nearby and we remembered that we hadn't been to Josey's in years so we decided to give it a try. When we walked in, there was barely anyone in the whole restaurant, however those that were there stood in the middle of the aisles, making it hard for my wife to get to our table. Apparently they knew the staff or some of them were staff, I'm not sure but apparently saying "excuse me" 4 times doesn't get you anywhere when everyone is in the middle of the walkway talking loudly. The waitress we had was okay. She definitely wasn't a talker unless she knew the customers, of course. When we got to order, I ordered french toast with 2 eggs over medium. One egg was cooked medium and the other was fully cooked with a hard yolk. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy which she said were barely warm when they came to the table. Not just that but she said that it lacked a lot of seasoning and the "sausage" looked terrible and had the consistency of wet dog food.
I don't think we will be back, but the 2 stars that I have given Josey's is for the bacon. It was crispy and tasty and probably would have been better if it was hot when we...
