Oh boy, do I have a cheesy review for you! So, picture this: La Joya Mexican Restaurant, nestled right in the heart of downtown Greer, SC. Let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem that will make your taste buds do a little salsa dance! From the moment you step inside, you'll feel like you've entered a fiesta of flavors. The vibrant colors on the walls and the lively music playing in the background will transport you straight to Mexico. It's like taking a mini vacation without leaving Greer! Now, let's talk about the food. Holy guacamole, Batman! The menu is a treasure trove of Mexican delights. Whether you're in the mood for sizzling fajitas, mouth-watering enchiladas, or crispy tacos, La Joya has got you covered. And let's not forget about the chips and salsa. They're so addictive, they should come with a warning label! The portions are as generous as a dad's dad jokes, so make sure you come hungry. And speaking of dad jokes, let's taco 'bout the service. The staff at La Joya are as friendly as can be, always ready with a smile and a dad joke or two. They make you feel right at home, like you're part of their big Mexican family. Now, let's address the elephant in the room (or should I say, the burrito in the room?). The prices at La Joya are as affordable as a dad's fashion sense. You won't have to break the bank to enjoy a delicious meal here. It's a win-win situation for your taste buds and your wallet! But wait, there's more! La Joya also offers a wide selection of refreshing margaritas and cervezas. It's like a party in a glass! So, grab your amigos and head over to La Joya for a night of food, fun, and family. You won't be disappointed! La Joya Mexican Restaurant is a dad-approved dining destination that will leave you saying "¡Ay, caramba!" It's a place where the flavors are as bold as a dad's dance moves and the atmosphere is as lively as a dad's storytelling. So, what are you waiting for? Go and make some delicious memories at La Joya!

I definitely enjoyed my experience here, my mother and I were looking at the menu facing the exterior of the building and someone came out invited us in and gave us a full menu. We looked at it for a second and decided that the food looks great and that we would eat there. Service was very quick, the food came out hot, it wasn't overly salty like you would have at some places and everything tasted fresh. I would give them a five except my tamale was a little bit dry as well as a chicken inside of it. But it still did have a decent taste. No major complaints, I will be back!

We were met with a basket of tortilla chips and salsa, while we figured out what we wanted. The wine was good, fast service, I was a little disappointed in the Yolandas, lots of meat, but, I expected some kind of veggies in it too. Large selection of sides, the Mexican speghetti was good. My husband loved his dinner, but it didn't come with sides. The portions were large. Give them a try, the place is spacious and has happy hour specials.

Eat somewhere else! I hate leaving bad reviews but this was terrible. I’ve never sent back a margarita! It was neon and the sweetest drink I’ve ever been given. I wish I’d taken a picture of it before I sent it back, because it looked like koolaid! I sent it back very politely just explaining it was very sweet and I couldn’t handle that, and they started speaking poorly about us in Spanish, not knowing my husband speaks fluent Spanish. The bartender was arguing back saying it’s not too sweet and that’s how they always make them. (And we saw another review where the owner came and said the patron spoke poorly about the staff, incase that’s said, we said NOTHING at all negative in the restaurant, I was very polite) Thankful they removed it from the bill because I would have requested it be removed. I got shrimp tacos and I’ve never been more disappointed. They were not hot and tasted microwaved and rubbery. The chips were stale, the salsa tasted like marinara. Strangest experience I’ve had. I wish we got fast food. My son said the beans tasted awful and couldn’t eat, and my other son got a burger. That son NEVER complains about food, and even he said the burger wasn’t great. I got home and was sick as a dog. Something was off. Never again….never ever again. I cannot understand how this place has good reviews. Save yourself and go literally...

Find out about this restaurant 4 months ago. Started off a big hit. Tasty n affordable, with plenty of food. But as of late and a menu change things have became poor all around. Small plates only giving one side. U pick rice or beans not both. If u add one on, its a large order n half the price of your plate. ? The pulled chicken had a 1 1/2 inch bone in it I found after it entered my mouth. 🤯 I tried again about a month or two later for worst, wet fried burrito, bc they had dried out chicken, wether old or overcooked n adding water will help it. 👍 Smh. Also watered down cheese, I guess to help on cost?? N my salad had lettuce drowning in its left over bath . Manager claims it's has lots of water in my lettuce bc he wait on me to pick up my order.....Poor food, service and price. Sadly they were getting my money twice a week for a month straight until menu change n management's care, quality, safety and over all customers service became...
