Read moreI'm disappointed. This place used to be great & I was happy to have somewhere with good gluten free food. The past few times we've been there, the service has been hit or miss, but the food was still good, so we dealt with it. Tonight, we ordered take out. 2 sandwiches (one gf), both with tots. When my fiance went in to pick up the food, he was shocked to see that the restaurant is not practicing safe social distancing. He was even mocked by another patron for asking for space, even though the guy was coughing. I'm not saying that Wild Ace has control over their guests, but if they would mark out 6' spaces on the floor, people would know what's expected of them.
Anyway, we got the food home & I'm sorry to say it just wasn't good. There was barely any toppings on my sandwich (I've ordered this sandwich before) & the gf crust was like cardboard. It's usually crisp & a little buttery, today I'm sure it was microwaved. My fiance said his sandwich was just "OK". The tots did not taste clean. I've been previously told that the potato products (fries, tots, & chips) were done in their own frier. We both found pieces of chicken tenders in our tots & now I'm worried about getting sick from gluten cross-contamination.
Overall, I'm wishing I had just thrown together something easy for dinner. I was exhausted from working all day & my fiance was trying to do something nice for me. But with more gf options coming to Greer, I don't think we'll be coming back. And I'll stop recommending it...
Read moreI bought a $60 e-gift card to this place and took my aunt there when I visited several weeks ago. We had half Hawaiian, half meat-lovers and it was tasty. The staff are unaware of their e-gift card app, as they kept asking for a bar code or a gift card number. The original receipt had no bar code or full number, just the last four. There was also a payment ID number and various other identifiers. My aunt went back with a friend to use the remainder of the card and was armed with the receipt in her email (all we ever got). My aunt may not be tech-savvy so she called me for help. They asked for the full gift-card number, which I never received even when I bought it. The lady at Wild Ace said that she was the person who approved the use of it the first time but never saw the gift card. It was as if they “gave us use of it the first time and thought we were scamming them now.” When I finally told the lady I wasn’t given the full gift card or any bar code, but told her the last four numbers and said our previous waiter was able to locate it in their system, she relented. Don’t offer e-gift cards by email/text if you are unaware of how to process them. She had mentioned that she “didn’t know if my 72-year-old auntie had been in the day before and used the card.” There’s an admin side to the (Toast) online payment system, so please understand how it works before insinuating people are trying to scam you. Laughable. Not sure I will be back, even though the pizza is good....
