So we wanted to go downtown with our 5 kids and try a new Mexican restaurant because we all love it. I’m definitely a review person and look at them before I go into places. Well we get there and it wasn’t busy at all. A female takes our drink orders well some what, she walks away as I’m trying to request certain things. She’s cold and rude. Like another review said, enjoy your first drink because that’s all you get. At one point I had all my smaller kids cups with lid off at edge of table which most servers know what that means. I have been a serve most of my life and I always tip 20% or more if I see effort and attention. Looked at menu and was shocked by prices for a mexican restaurant, especially $7 kids meal with no drink included. I couldn’t even eat my meal. But I mean the foood wasn’t horrible but service was. I will admit after not getting refills and having to ask for everything multiple times, as the only two servers there were on phone and or eating in back room openly, I did become a Karen. Which the guy I spoke to didn’t seem to understand any English nor did he care I was upset, after seeing my $90 check I was even more upset. Will never return and after I was treated like that, I hope they put a business in its place that is worth $90. I’ll stick to our...
Read moreAfter we were seated, a lady came to take our drink order. A few minutes later, another lady came to take it again and confirm that we did want alcohol in our piña colada’s. After getting our drinks, we waited about 20 minutes before having to flag down a waitress so we could order, then she sent another waitress over to take the order. We waited forty minutes for our food, until my boyfriend and I decided we would rather make it to our event on time than continue waiting for the food. We left half of our party there who finally received the food about 10 minutes after we left, so we heated up our food at home later that evening. 10/10 if your idea of a good restaurant experience is a rude waitress that you have to flag down and food that takes nearly an hour to come.
They did take two drinks and entree off the bill, but after spending over an hour at a restaurant with no updates or apologies for the wait time, there’s nothing that excuses leaving hungry. If a restaurant is short staffed, they should be up front about it and inform customers upon entering that wait times will be longer than usual.
The salsa was good, but we will...
Read moreWe have wanted to try Los Portales for quite some time, and we will never be back. Upon arrival we were seated in the dining room that was incredibly loud. When we tried to order some drinks the rude waitress walked away without saying a word. Shortly after a man came over and introduced himself as our waiter and took our drink order. He brought our drinks out quickly and took our food order and we never saw him again after that.... Our food came out after about 15 minutes, delivered by yet another waitress, who quickly dropped it off and walked away. We had no silverware and had to wait for her to come back by/ notice and get some. My husband asked for a refill when she dropped the silverware off and after hesitating she reluctantly took the glass and refilled it. The food was subpar to say the least. We were not once checked on. We had to waive someone down to bring us the check. If you are looking for a local Mexican restaurant in Greer, you are MUCH better off at Guacamole, or going a little further down the road to Lyman and stopping at...
