Alright this is going to be a lengthy review, BUT worth the read.
Now I might be biased because I love Popeyes since I was a little girl. I grew up in Chicago, IL so we had tons of these. When I moved to Greenville and found out the closest one was about a 40-min drive I was devastated. I went to the Boiling Springs location in hopes of getting some bomb chicken and sides. It was alright, nothing compared to the locations from back home.
When I found out that they were opening one in Greer I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to go and I finally got the chance to. We pulled up and man they were packed! DT line was all the way out to the Main Street about 12 cars in that line waiting. We decided to go inside and order. There was about 5 customers in front waiting to place their order. The lobby is tiny and they only have about a handful of tables. Which where all full. There was about 10 customers waiting for their orders that were already placed.
There was one particular customer that was being rude, he never swore or raised his voice. Yet he made a comment to one of the employees and you could tell the employee was upset about it. His whole facial expression and body language immediately changed. When it was finally our turn to order we told him to brush it off and that he was doing a great job. To keep up the good work, which he kindly replied “thanks that means a lot”.
We finally got our food about 35 mins later and were able to find a table. The food was exactly what I was craving from back home. Fresh, packaged nicely, and order was accurate. I watched the employees work as we ate, and I think the owner was working side by side with his team. Now I don’t know if it was the actual owner but from what I saw he looked like it.
I also noticed a few other customers give the cashier words of encouragement, but I also saw some customers just be plain rude and nasty.
We decided to walk across the parking lot to Dunkin Donuts we bought a dozen donuts and a box of coffee and dropped it off for them. You have no idea how happy they all were when they saw it. They all said thank you and appreciated it. We told them to keep up the good work and day by day it will get better.
I guess I give them 5 stars because this restaurant has not been opened for that long. If I walked in to a restaurant that’s been opened for a year and I saw something like that then I probably would only give 1 star.
As soon as you decided to pull in to this place expect a wait, you see all the other customers in line waiting as well. They’re doing the best they can with what they got. Everyone is hungry which is understandable, but until you’ve been on the other side of that counter you don’t know how hard it is to do that job.
If you don’t wanna wait then stop by in a few months. If you don’t mind waiting be kind to the people serving your food.
Awesome job to everyone working there. They were all keeping busy and trying their best!! Definitely will be...
Read moreUpdate 11/5/19 ordered the chicken sandwich. 3 to be exact. For my bf and myself. It Was awesome!! The original was better than the spicy. ( I think ) Now I didn't get to try it the first time it was out. But I did enjoy it very much. Crispy, juicy, big piece of chicken ( which I had to share with my fur baby lol was plenty of it tho😊) and the Mayo was really good, kinda sweet. Only one pickle on it tho would had liked one or two more but it was super tasty. Good job Popeyes! Only a three star tho bc I was first in drivethru when they opened and they were already forgetting items from my order. I had to drive around and park to go in, drivethru was already backed up at 10:10am. But really good sandwiches, just check ur bag before driving off. Pictures of chicken sandwich 11/5/19
9/3/19 Guy working drive through was nice and polite. Ordered popcorn shrimp combo. Shrimp was good and fresh but fries were cold and chewy. So only got half my plate bc those fries were not good enough to eat. But am pleased to have a better experience with customer service this time.
6/6/19. Chicken was skinny and had more breading than meat. Was flavorless, room temp and chewy, as if it was old. I received no sauce. Potatoes were ok but gravy was gross. Tasted only like red beans and rice with smashed beans in it. No gravy taste at all and very watery. Only thing that improved was the long line. Which I'm sure is bc it's not new anymore and not good. I wanted a shrimp po boy and they no longer have any po boy. But was still on the menu board. Employees were rude, still. Acted like they didn't want customers there. Back door was open as I went thru drive thru and back of store was filthy. There was a guy taking out trash and the bag was ripped on the bottom and was spilling food/ trash all over floor of restaurant and parking lot. He knew it and continued to let it spill and scatter as he finished taking it to the dumpster. Not caring about the mess he was leaving behind. There was three other guy employees out the back door standing around socializing and smoking with door open! not helping the guy with the trash, just watching him. I tried again. They failed again. Shame we got a half store and no where close to what Popeyes truly has to offer. Very bad food and service is what Greer got and they need a name change. Their not a Popeyes and still stinks😢😢
Very underwhelming. Was so excited to get a Popeyes in our area. Everything was over breaded, over cooked, drive thru was almost a hour wait for these undesirable items and person at window could not take a order properly and he would leave u hanging with no response when asked a question about the menu. Oh and not to mention the parking lot/drive thru is the worst ever! It begs for a accident to happen. Hope they work these problems out or the build was for nothing. Went from love for Popeyes to sadness. This place as of rn...
Read moreUPDATED: So corporate reaches out and makes a nice statement....BUT you still don't offer to reconcile the issue. Its a box of chicken, three sides, and biscuits how hard is that to replace? I know people in Florida in Orlando that have worked for Popeyes, and they throw the food out at night. They have started giving it to homeless people at the end of closing rather than putting it in the dumpster. This store wont even compensate for their mistakes or take accountability. You know why? Because they are not held accountable. Read this thread of reviews. Its 75% complaints of order issues. This store does what it wants. This is a small town, and believe me, its not the only place with fried chicken. Word of mouth spreads and you will see a drop in business eventually.
If I could give a zero, I would. We ordered a 16 peice meal. We got home and the order was wrong. I called and someone that said they were a manager said they would write down my name to come back for a full meal. I went back with my husband yesterday. No one knew anything about it. A new manager tried to help us by calling the General Manager, who said they would not honor that replacement. Then a second so called manager arrived, she rolled her eyes and refused to address us. We watched her be rude to patrons. The new manager was courteous and tried to help us. I showed her my transaction of $51 and the date, she sent this to the GM, but she didn't reply. All the while the manager that came in continued to refuse to address us. No one knows who answered the phone and no one remembers it. Even with a receipt. The customers were lining up and the managers attitude was horrible. The only decent person was the new manager who tried to help. So $51 spent and with proof of purchase, they refused to address this. We won't go there again. You can believe I will contact corporate offices and mention their names. Poor attitudes for people in charge. Im 62 years old and don't make up lies to steal chicken from Popeyes....
