The BBB did what they could do within the confines of the rules that govern their office to help with our case against Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing. Unfortunately, companies like Shellpoint operate without much federal oversight and when they get a bad reputation- commit crimes they usually just change their name while the same owner or group of owners continues their way of conducting business under a new business name. I appreciated Cindy’s help with my case. My review is not personally directed at you but at the institutions. We did not get the resolution we needed because we could not afford to hire an attorney to sue Shellpoint and other companies for wrongdoing. I would like to ask the BBB to look into Shellpoint more in depth because my complaints and my story are extremely common and we are having to leave our home. It grew to be too financially difficult for us to fight Shellpoint and try and get the moneys owed from the multiple parties guilty of wrongdoing to fix our home. We could not hire anyone to represent us. There was no safety net. We did not get the help we NEEDED to prevent having to give up our home either through deed in lieu of foreclosure or to an investor to whom all of the profits will go with whatever they decide to do after taking over the loan. We contacted legal charities by email and by mail. I called them by phone. No one helped. Either way we lost everything we put in including thousands of hours of work to elevate the property by hand so we would not lose property to rising waters. With mold in the home, severe foundation problems, significant health problems, and financial exhaustion there was nothing to do but move out. We are taking a loss in the seventy-thousand dollar range because of this and will never be homeowner’s again due to the extreme financial condition set upon us by factors beyond our control. I wish I could say I am satisfied with how my complaint was resolved, but I am not. Maybe within how the office operates it is adequate but tell that to my children who are losing their home. We are moving to a much smaller apartment and the entirety of what we put in is lost. There are no words for how I feel. I am physically and emotionally sick and we have lost most of what we had. We did not have the legal help we needed and that is why things turned out so poorly for us. The rich and powerful took advantage of my family because we were poor, sick, I lost my job, and they knew it. I do not have he capacity to fight them anymore. This is a battle we lost. I wish you could or had policies that allowed you to do more, but you do not. I am tired. How I feel will not change but the outcomes with echo for decades to come and others will hear my story endlessly. I am angry and I have a long memory. We need reform and I am going to start and aggressive campaign to get it. There are too many people being allowed to get away with these underhanded, dirty business practices that destroy the poor completely. I gave you a three star review because I got the help I expected but did not get a solution to prevent the outcomes resulting in the loss of our life savings which was sunk into our home. This is the average experience the poor who are oppressed by the rich and powerful have. I could not wait any longer for the help that never came. They had attorneys contact me to begin the foreclosure they manufactured and told us our home would be placed with HUD most likely within 60 to 90 days after which it may or may not be condemned. We are moving out presently. Fix how you deal with situations like this. Good people are losing everything because no one will stop companies like Shellpoint and Home Bridge Financial from doing these things in the first place. If they had more oversight and consequences which were guaranteed to come we never would have been sold this broken home to begin with. Read morei filed a report on fedex,last year,so far the BBB has done Nothing to help resolve this problem,the driver sent my child's Christmas present to the wrong home!! After repeated contact with the BBB and fedex the lost laptop ended up costing me over $500 due to their mistake...still the BBB hasn't been of any help, FedEx sent their guy back and sat at the wrong house stating it was the right home,I was on the phone with fedex at the time and tried to flag the driver down as he speed off the lady on the phone he said he is at the right house and stated there is nothing they were willing to do!! I will refile the report with BBB in Greenville and see if they can be of more help,so far the BBB seems to be of more help to bad company's than the consumer.. I will update my rating with BBB if they can offer me any help for this problem....I hate to give the BBB a low rating but willing to allow them one...
Read moreI filed a claim of a business that should be investigated and watched closely but they did absolutely nothing to help me. The manager at said business has terrible customer relations, is rude, lies, and steals from you, but the BBB of upstate SC could care less. They recognized that I was unhappy with the response from the business that they simply mediated and then closed the claim and that was that. Don’t bother trying to file a claim with them, they do absolutely nothing to help the customer who tells the truth and are there to profit from the sketchy business practices of a business that has no place being in business in the first place.
