Read moreThis is a very cool collection of vintage toys, but it gave us more "Vintage Toy Museum" vibes than an actual store just based on the high prices. Now, to be completely fair, I would consider this store to be geared more towards the vintage toy collecting guys rather than gals and what interests I have in the "boy-toys" of the eighties are highly sought after and a lot of what we looked at was in very good condition for being 40+ years old. Especially when originally they were, most likely, ( but maybe not; I had He-Man) owned by boys; my husband has reminisced on how much he loved to strap his childhood figures to fire-crackers as a tween. *Sob But, I love to restore toys myself and prefer a cheaper find. I know this is certainly not always the case with other collectors
All that being said, there was some YouTube filming going on while we were there but the employees still made a point to speak to us in a friendly manner and ask if they could be of help.
So, I have rated the store by my own collecting ( and bargain-hunting) preferences but I recommend you make your own assumptions based upon your own collecting tastes. If you are looking for a cool vintage toy store in the upstate of S.C. this one is worth...
Read moreThey have a huge selection, good for finding something niche, but only if you want to spend your life savings on it. The worst customer service I’ve ever had consistently, I don’t know a single person who has had a good experience at this store. Their prices are ridiculous even when selling clear bootlegs or broken figures. I asked if they had any back-stock of a certain figure, employee brought out one that looked like a dog chewed on it, saying it was the only one and pricing it ridiculously high, when I took it out and commented on the broken piece and firmly stated that i wouldn’t buy a figure broken at that price he said “well.. I guess I could go check again. We might have another” he brought out one that was in perfect condition. Also overheard an employee who was talking very rudely to an employee at a neighboring store who had came into buy something saying something along the lines of their store being better and just weird kindergarten insults while the poor guy was just trying to make his purchase, they also gave him the worst prices I’ve ever seen for dolls in terrible condition. The employees are judgmental, mega losers who scoff at you if you have any questions and overprice everything to...
