first, they told me that even though i made my purchase with a debit/credit card, they weren't able to look up my receipt for my return with out having previously registered for an account with them (with phone &/or email). which, every other place I've ever been to, can do. THEN, i actually FIND my original receipt for the item, and it won't scan: their system says my receipt is "invalid." so the cashier accuses me of faking my $150 some odd dollar receipt! even though, a few minutes previously back when i could NOT find my receipt, she told me a PICTURE of the receipt would suffice. a PICTURE is good enough? but when i have the real thing in my hand, its a fraud?! she did not have the appropriate attitude of someone with quality customer service skills, and immediately jumped to the conclusion that i am a dishonest customer. eventually, one of the three girls had the bright idea to MANUALLY type in the receipt #, and they found a match in the computer for the receipt i was holding in my hand. the fact that i was physically holding a receipt was not good enough. apparently, at Michael's, if you dont have an account with them( aka dont want to hand over your personal information like phone and email), it does not matter if you have a receipt... if they can't find your purchase in their computers... you are NOT returning that item. period. and then, adding insult to injury, when (finally) processing my return, she said "the purchase was made with a debit card. do you HAVE the debit card you bought this with?" her voice was so snarky, clearly still with the opinion that i must be a fraudulent customer! and if the tone in her voice wasn't enough to tell me she thought i was a thief, then the employees following me around the store for the remaining half hour i was there CERTAINLY was!
Michael's - try entering 2022 with the same technology every other big name store has: the ability to look up a debit/credit card purchase. and teach your employees that accusing someone of fraud and thievery is a VERY big deal, so thus should not be taken lightly...no matter HOW much theft your store deals with...not everyone is a thief. i mean, come on? im going to go to the trouble of printing up a fake receipt over just 30 bucks? your prices are high enough...go ahead and update...
Read moreThis store is ok. I don't usually rate stores (mostly just restaurants and specific services) but I really felt the need to talk about their customer service. It needs to improve. I go in there fairly often and have realized that they have never been very friendly. I ignored it at first and thought maybe it was just one person having a bad day, but it seems to be everybody every time I go in there. I have tried to ask simple questions before and with a good attitude, but they always get frustrated like it's such an inconvenience to answer a question. I don't know how I could have upset them? Also, every time I walk in they very FAKELY greet me and other customers with frowns and rude tones. When checking out they do not interact nicely and act like they hate their lives or customers. I have worked customer service jobs and know the importance of being nice to people. I think the store owner should talk with the employees about this. She was so kind to agree to help afterward & I made sure to keep championing her for her kindness. Using my tablet's shopping list she got many of the items and radio some coworkers to assist her as well. She explains que Rest of my items estan en the front & I thank her again & told her I would make a review & stuff. She told us her name and my niece made sure she repete it again at the front. The hynita en the front was also hella nice and ask me I want to apply for a membership & a credit card.
