I'm all for supporting your local LGS for releases by purchasing product from them instead of online retailers, but what you absolutely should not support is an LGS charging three times the MSRP of a product upon release under the guise of it being "Market". The market price gets driven up because of resellers and scalping, and having your local LGS trying to capitalize off the ludicrous prices by claiming that "Pokemon doesn't have an MSRP" (actual quote which was walked back after I told them I knew it does) is gross behaviour. If you want to be a valued part of the community, try not ripping them off for a change. There are definitely sharks at Retro Shark Edit: Noticed the response to the other review calling them out for this. They like to claim that they wouldn't have any product to sell if they didn't charge Market price for sealed product. It's not only disingenuous, but also just nonsensical. If you're given 10 ETBs to sell, whether you sell them for $10 or $100 doesn't change the fact you moved 10 units. If you're capitalizing off of a scalpers market because it makes you money, at least have the dignity not to lie about it in Google Reviews. Edit 2: I have no idea what the person running this account is on about. My wife and I came in and looked at plushies, I asked if they would be selling at MSRP instead of Market again, and then we said thanks and left after browsing for a few minutes longer. I definitely won't be coming back after this response though, that's for sure!

Bought a copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl for the specialty price of $29.99 (about $10-$5 more than online) a couple of months ago; back when they were still at the Gresham Town Fair location. Didn't look too much at the game when I was at the store given I was with friends and didn't want to take up their precious time. Later, upon playing it, it would stop reading the disc about three minutes into the game. I popped the disc out to see why and upon further inspection the disc itself was slightly bent and almost looks like it has disc rot. Not to mention that the cover in the case is not even the original; it's just a shoddy reprint and not even a good one. They kept the disc in a drawer behind the counter in a sleeve probably to prevent theft but because of this I had no idea as to the condition of the disc. I live far out and don't go drive to Gresham very often so the option to drive all the way back to return the game didn't seem all that appealing especially with the gas prices at the time; they do have a 1 or 2 week return period so that's cool I guess even though I didn't use it.

This place is super cool! I've been trying to hunt around the Portland metro area for a copy of The Urbz: Sims in the City for Nintendo DS, which I've had a hard time finding. They had not only one copy, but two! (And I took both, I had to give the other to my boyfriend who is now enjoying this amazing game too.) The people who run this store are friendly and helpful, and they generally know a lot about games! I enjoy how the store is organized and they have a lot to offer when it comes to geek culture. I don't often come to Gresham area, but whenever I am around, I'll definitely be stopping by this store, and recommending it to others.

BE AWARE!!! They have hidden predatory return policies. BE CAREFULL!! what you purchase from them. They also have higher prices than other competitors. I would recommend double jump games video games or video game wizards.

I bought a gamecube super smash bros controller for 40$ like 2 months ago. The same day I used it and the R button was not working and glitchy. I went the next day to return it. Their return policy states they accept returns on defective accessories like controllers. So I thought I would be getting my money back. But that was far from the truth. So I said I wanted return it and told them the R button was not working. They then take the controller to run a "pie" test. And they said it passed the "pie" test. They said the pie test is accurate. I said it wasn't working for me. I tried to use it all day on mario kart double dash and was not registering the R button for drifting. No where on their return policy does it state any item has to pass a "pie" for it to be defective. Thats absolutely terrible!! that they have levels to their return policies. They should do better and clarify their return policy. They then said they can't accept a return and can do instore credit. I asked what was store credit? They said 12$!!! cash Or 15$!! Store credit And I paid 40$ i told the store employee no where does it say on their return policy an item has to pass any test of any sort to deem it defective. And the store employee just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing! They would have gained 28$ if i took the cash offer and most likely throw it up for sale again for 40$ what a sketchy business tactic to do on customers. Knowing i would take a big loss on a controller that did not work i then said i would just keep the controller. That's insane!!! I was super frustrated and took it to double jump games and they offered me 25$ store or 20$ cash for the state of the controller it was in. Way better then what retro offered me. They make it sooo difficult to return items. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS IF YOUR TRYING TO GET BACK INTO RETRO GAMING!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS...

So yesterday I came into the store in Gresham to trade some games for credit to purchase another game. I come home and try to play the game the next day and the game doesnt even work so I come into the store. This employee Lea or Dea starts off with an attitude right away and tells me that I scratched up the disc. I was pretty confused to why she would stand there and try and argue with me and not take the game back. She was very soft spoken with an entiltled little attitude to me for no reason. I just kept trying to be polite even though I was losing my patience. She finally gives me the credit back on my account so before I can go look for a different game to get, I ask if I can trade in a couple of other games for cash or credit and she rudely tells me no because all the games/bluray I had were scratched up. She didnt even look at them and I come into the store pretty often with games that are in great condition when I trade them in and have never been treated this way ever. I told her the way shes treating me is very unfair and that I would like to speak to her manager or someone higher up. She refused to give me her name, nor the managers or anyone elses numbers which now I understand were their personal cell numbers. But she was just extremely snobbyy and kept telling me to leave then called the police on me, telling them that some Hispanic is here freaking out and wont leave her store. while I(Filipino btw lol) stood there baffled with my fiance and son. This whole thing got blown out of proportion and it was embarassing that my son had to see me being treated that way I talked to the cops and I just realized by then I'm not gonna get anything out of this and gave up. I dont think someone like that should be working there. Like I said before, I come in pretty often and have never been treated that way ever. I know this is probably a waste of time and I'm not going to get anything out of this but I feel like people should know about this employee and they do...
