Original Roadhouse Grill — Restaurant in Gresham

In the museum of terrible food, Roadhouse is the Mona Lisa. I attempted to voice my extreme displeasure with this "eatery" but, their customer service and general care is just as terrible as what they consider food hence, this review.

First, the delivery order was wrong. Okay, maybe a simple mistake that items were missing but, that was just the tip of the iceberg of what was to be one of the absolute worst meals I've ever had the displeasure of having. How one jumps from medium rare to charcoal when cooking steak should be studied. Truly a world class acrobatic act of culinary buffoonery. Luckily for me, the $12 add on to my Caesar Salad resulted in 4 miniscule pieces of what amounted to basic shoe leather I had to try and muscle through. What a wonderful workout for my jaw muscles. Bravo! But, I did get a full head of wilted lettuce and a vat of dressing to make the meal all that more abhorrent. Oh, and their croutons must be on the Save the Planet list as they were clearly made from recycled cardboard boxes. Good on you Roadhouse for saving the whales while you dish out slop on par with low grade dog food.

My wife had the filet and again, this should be studied. Was this beef? This place must be owned by a dentist since the filet nearly crunched when being chewed and is clearly filling the coffers of said dentist with throngs of chipped teeth, loose fillings, and full implants. How is a filet this tough? Filet of football is my random speculation after contemplating the origin of this mystery meat. The bacon wrap must have been measured to some sort of larger type of thread. So thin that you almost needed the James Webb telescope to reveal its very existence. To be fair, the sweet potato was decent and could be proudly served at such reputable establishments like Elmer's, Denny's, Black Bear, and the like. Those eateries are what they are but, a "steakhouse" that charges as much as Roadhouse should be doing much, much better.

In closing, have your insurance card at the ready and say 5 Hail Mary's if you still decide to drag yourself in. Getting a roundhouse kick from Patrick Swayze or stitched up sans anesthesia after a sweaty 10 on 1 gritty bar fight would likely rank higher on the enjoyment scale than suffering through another meal at...

.........HORRIBLE SERVICE...... Very upset. We came in for Fathers day dinner. Party of 14. 1st group got there a hour early to reserve spot. They told are server they were on one bill. Okay that should be easy.. (NOT) there was 3 tabs at are table. We sat in the group for each tab. We told her in the beginning who is on each tab. We made it easy as possible for her. 1st issues. She was very short very rude taking are drink order... that should have been easy. All we all orders was either lemonade sode or water. She took for ever to get to us. When she came back with are drinks. We asked hey when you get a chance can we get bread and butter. She snapped at my husband. She said yeah... But I need to take the food order 1st. Her voice tone was very RUDE... 2ND ISSUES she was rude to my 7 year old daughter. When my daughter asked her nicely for ketchup. She said you need to wait I can only take one order at a time. 3rd issue when I asked her if we could please get the check. Came back we asked her if we could use are rewards #. Rudely she answered "No" we can only use one number per table. Okay no worries, We were fine with that. But then all 3 of are bills were messed up. I couldn't believe it. When I say she was so rude. Im not playing around. She says " THIS IS WHY I DONT LIKE SPLITTING UP CHECKS" WITH A ROLLING THE EYES AT US. okay at this point I was done with her. My 7 year old said why is she being so rude to us mommy? I got up handed the bill to my husband. Went and spoke to a manager.. oh the issues don't stop there. My sister waiting to pay her bill. My husband waiting to pay are bill and my brother waiting to pay his bill. Were the only ones left at the table. She says I added gratitude to your bill. But you guys can add more. You guys did have a big group. Okay we had 13 people. I understand that. But she was rude the whole time to us and she wanted a bigger gratitude. I don't think so. Stop by to grab a quick salad in the bar on my way home. It was not quick and it was not good. Usually at the bar you would get greeted quickly and given a menu. Nobody greeted me for so long that I had already pulled up the menu on my phone and decided what I was going to get. When the bartender came over with the menu she wasn’t expecting to even take a drink order. She was just going to drop off the menu and do a drive-by. Instead I stopped her and told her what I wanted to eat and drink. I ordered the chargrilled salad with chicken. She seemed annoyed that I was ordering already but she took the order and left and I didn’t see her again for another 15 minutes when she did a drive-by with a basket of bread which I didn’t want. She dropped it and walked so fast I couldn’t even stop her. I was feeling annoyed that a salad was taking so long during an early hour when they weren’t busy. It wasn’t even 6 o’clock yet and there was only two tables aside from mine in the bar being occupied. The salad came and it wasn’t mixed greens as it says on the menu. It was pure white iceberg lettuce. The red onions were so old that they were translucent and barely had any flavor. The only thing that was good was the chargrilled chicken which is why give two stars. I saw other people waiting on their checks and waiting to place their first drink orders while this bartender gal would disappear in the back. For example she served one table their food and they asked for a side of ranch or something and she went to the back and didn’t return with the side for almost 10 minutes. Not sure if she’s trying to cook things back there as well as serve the bar but whatever she’s doing, it was not efficient. The person who brought me the salad was not the bartender/server for me. My server never came by my table again. I knew it would take forever to get the check so I just left cash for the amount that I thought the...
