pub 181 has been a main place for alot of family functions for over 20 years. 4 family members have bands and have also played her for over 20years. This weekend I had my husbands 50th birthday party. the waiter greeted me and harshly scolded me because 2 couples arrived early and did not sit at our reserved table. The waiter made sure that everyone in the bar heard him and i was in tears within minutes. He threatened that the business is considering not taking reservations in the future; as if there business decisions were of any concern of mine. The waitress within minutes picked up where he left off and continued to stomp around, and again letting us know that she was running the show and felt it was in her right to take it even further to bad mouth my husband and I to other customers in the bar. She then made sure we saw her anger and with no professionalism at all, served our friends dinner by throwing them down on the table and walking away. She then went to another table where the other couple in our party was having dinner and some of my husbands gifts, told them to move and physically removed their dinner and my personal property to our " reserved table" and again continued to yell and scold us. Needless to say, our relationship with pub 181 is over. No one deserves to be subjected to that level of humiliation and embarrassment because we did not sit at the proper table. I will say the young man apologized to me at the end of the night and he truely did feel bad. The waitress, she should be fired. With her actions and behaviors last night she has cost her employer many loyal customers.
and revenue. we had multiple customers approach us to let us know how bad they felt and were stunned that a person of her character is allowed to work their. This really is a neighborhood bar. I apologized I do not know names but, we had another male and female employee that intercepted and took care of us all night. The were amazing and did great...
Read moreUsually love this place. Kelly is the BEST bartender in Portland/Gresham. The food is good and quick. However, when two men today from 12:30 to 1:30 pm were playing a golf game and Very Slowly switching back and forth to a poker machine (every other machine is taken by actual players) they became abusive and rude when I asked them if they were actually playing poker machine. They had left $8.00 in it for 15 minutes but put a reservation menu sign on it and tipped the chair up against it. When I said come on, you know you haven’t been playing consistently both machines (golf against each other and video poker) they became instantly combative, Two large men came straight at mr and said there was nothing could do because Tracy (other bartender) was not going to do sh** about it. I felt intimidated and taken back by 2 men instant anger for being asked if they were playing. I left with 3 other people and we spent our money elsewhere. I should note Tracy had no direct involvement in this rude interaction. The bar should observe and not allow its regular patrons to be aggressive, monopolize or use staff friendships as a way to take over recreation games in bar. This seems to be an area of entitlement that Pub 181 has fostered as acceptable and new patrons will be turned off as long as it is allowed...
Read moreI had been going there for a long time with my 9 pound service dog. I brought her in a dog carrier/car seat and was almost immediately approached by a new bartender named Lauren who began yelling that my dog couldn’t be in there. She denied that my dog was ina fact a service animal. (Which I have proof) I said ok we will eat outside may I please have a menu, she didn’t return with a menu so I went and asked her for one. She yelled at me about my small quiet service animal once again. I said all I want is a menu so I can go outside and order. She screamed u need to listen to me and get your dog out of here. I lost my appetite. This was around 3pm. Not in the middle of a wild night. Steaks good, service is unacceptable and against the law. Took her anger out on me and my 9LB service animal. i will be contacting the ADA. Possibly a lawyer because that is against the law. Horrible representation of the business and we were hurting nobody. Very big person to get mad at a tiny service animal. I will never go back and I have been a...
