Philly's Steak House — Restaurant in Gretna

Every time we go to the west Bank we attempt to try new places to eat each time. This place's main thing is, quantity. They don't use a chopped steak, opting instead for ground beef... but they give you a lot of it. The bread is good, the fixings on it were fresh and tasty, they use a mayo that flows nicely into the hot beef. It made for an overall fairly good Philly. There are better ones out there technically yes, but for this price point and the quantity you get, its a very solid lunch option. The highlight for us was the house sauce. I'm a huge sauce nut and wow was I impressed. Fries were cooked to order and melodies perfect with the house sauce. The service is standard counter service and the actual restaurant sitting space is cheap and not much effort put in. But that's not the point of this place at all is it? Its a quick, affordable and overall pretty decent Philly spot....

😡😡💢💢Called Philly's Cheese steak on stumpf in GRETNA ..placed an order at 6.. spent 40 minutes waiting for a potato to be made. When I asked why was the wait so long,Managers answer was,THEY dont honor phone call orders anymore they take them as they please since so many people aren't going to pick up their food,I'm being served the way I was because Other people aren't going to get their food,not to mention they told 3 people who has ordered right along with me. They are no more potatoes to serve refunds can be given if not choose another item to eat.. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME,not even a apology was made. While I’m NOLA for a volleyball tournament we googled places to east base me. This place came up in our search so we thought we would try it. We are all very happy we did! The food was amazing! I had such a hard time deciding what to order it all looked and sounded so good. I finally went with the bbq wings. My husband got the surf and turf Philly steak and my son got the double steak burger. We were all very pleased, large portions and it was cooked when we ordered so it was nice and fresh. The staff were super friendly and helpful! We would highly recommend this place, sorry I didn’t get a picture-we all dug in too...
