9 Roses Restaurant — Restaurant in Gretna

Had to deduct four stars for the following reasons below, however the food is really good. The do-it-yourself spring rolls with meat on the grill is the best. Now to the bad part: you must bring out the appetizers first. this is just common sense, unless you tell the waiter otherwise, you always bring the appetizers first. This lady that was my waiter brought out the appetizers with the entrees. Needless to say there was absolutely no room on the table. you must replace the grill cover once in a while. I had to constantly call the waiters and servers to replace my grill. it wasn't like the restaurant is short staffed, this just shows how inattentive the staffs are. you must bring out the ENTIRE menu. you cannot just keep a separate menu for the grill and when we asked why didn't you give us the grill menu, you then say "ohh it's because you didnt' ask for it" LOL i don't need to ask for anything! you need to give the customers the entire menu including any special menu like the grill you have LOL this is very common practice that if the customer ordered something wrong or the customer just don't want it anymore, as a restaurant, you can easily take the food back. yes it is my fault for ordering one of the plates wrong, but what you should have done was just take the dish back and let me order...

WOW this place has probably one of the largest menus of anyplace in the New Orleans metro area!!! It isn't as large at it used to be but it is still quite extensive and includes items I've never seen at other restaurants in the area.

They have abalone soup, various versions of pho, Chinese, Vietnamese, and several other Asian dishes thrown in for fun. The only complaint I've got is they don't offer jasmine tea like several other Vietnamese places do (maybe they do and I just don't know how to order it). I see more Vietnamese people eating here than just about any other place I've eaten in the area so maybe that means this is a really good authentic Vietnamese place.

I really enjoy the food here and it is a really good value and actually just a downright cheap place to eat with fantastic food. They have some great value lunch specials here that are larger in portion size than many other restaurants dinner size portions!

Food was terrible…only served unsweet tea with their lunch special shrimp fried rice was boiled in water with absolutely zero seasoning-who does that anyways??, lomein noodles were chowmein noodles and were hard. Flavor wasn’t that great. Luke warm food temp. Our wontons to go with our egg drop soup were cold. The bowl was cold as well as if it had been sitting in the fridge. Our waiter acted like he didn’t want to take our order either. After sitting for about 15 minutes and several times of trying to make eye contact with him, I raised my hand and told him we were ready to order. He said ok hold on. Made a lap around the restaurant, walked over to an empty table, walked to another worker to talk, and then walked over to a table in front of us and took their drink order.
