Waffle House — Restaurant in Griffin

Don't ever eat at this place. The two women who were working there on 10/18/2020 at 9:30 pm were obnoxious and rude and served a $5.00 special menue of Grilled cheese and Ham with Hash browns were rude when I asked for my hash browns and she said that hash browns don't come with the Grilled cheese and ham. I had showed her the Menue and it states that the Grilled cheese and ham and Hash browns for $5.00. She said it don't come with the Hash Browns My wife had a $3.00 special and a drink and I had a drink. They gave me the bill and it had $12.40 as the Balance so I looked at the Menu and took off the $2.40 for a small hash brown portion that I did not get and put down $10.00 and told her I was not paying for something I did not get. I then walked out and started to back out of the Handicapped parking space next to the window that a very nice and honorable couple in a red car was parked behind me and were sitting right inside next to the place I parked. They witnessed the whole thing as the even heard what I was saying to the Manager or whoever she was about the bill being over charged for something I did not receive. I went out side to leave and the witnesses came out after me and tole me that the woman was calling the Police to tell them that I tried to run her over. I then went back in and threw the two dollars on the counter and told them that I am calling Corporate about their employees dipping into the till and then calling the police with a false report. They said "go ahead and call I don't care". ThePolice came and the couple were so concerned that I would get arrested for false Report and waited for the police to arrive to tell the Police the truth that I did not try to hit her and that she was setting me up because I did not pay the $2 for the Hash browns. But I was forced to pay the extortion from these criminals who probably been screwing the customers for awhile the way they act. They are very rude and tell the customers off. When I seen they were cleaning up the grill, in a hurry to close up I knew why they would not serve the Hash browns is because they put them away already and were to lazy to go to the fridge to get them out. But I seen them make up another Hash brown bowel right in front of me when I got the Grilled Cheese and Ham sandwich. They told the lady after this order they were closing the grill down so they made the Hash browns anyway for that customer. Don't go to that Waffle House if you wast good service and good attitudes as they don't care about the customers. And pleas don't order through Post-mates because I am the only delivery man for this area and will not pick up...

There was only one waitress and one cook. I think the waitress might have been new. She didn't quite seem like she knew what she was doing. We went there after trick or treating and the place was dead. There was only one car in the parking lot and it looked to be a friend of the employees. Every table was dirty. We had to stand there for a few minutes to wait on her to come clean off some tables. It took her longer than normal to bring the drinks. She forgot the waffles and didn't bring any butter or syrup. We had 4 adults, 3 teens and 1 child. That poor baby was hungry. All he ordered was a waffle and of course that was the last thing she brought after everyone had already finished all their food except the waffles we were waiting on. Anything we asked her for took a while to get. The cook did well. The scrambled eggs were a little softer than usual but still good. A family that came in after us ended up just leaving because she was taking too long to even get to them. She needs to learn to multitask and get quicker at doing the checks and get better at being able to read the receipts. Also, you should bring little kids their food first, or at least at the same time as everyone else's food.

Update 10/31/23 We went here for dinner after trick or treating. Just like last year there was only one waitress and one cook. They did a much better job this time though. All the tables were clean and she came right over and took our order. She was very friendly and did a great job. After we ordered a whole bunch of people came in and the restaurant was packed. Worst Waffle House on earth is on Hwy 16 in Griffin, GA! The cook was a rude masculine-looking female and the manager was afraid to stand up to her. Coffee and grits were both cold. Cook burned some of our food and talked badly about customers in front of the customers after we let them know, in an extremely polite manner, that our grits were ice cold. Our simple request for hotter grits escalated into a shouting match. Yet the poor excuse for a manager allowed the extremely rude cook to insult us with a smart-mouth attitude. This same cook bragged that she could do whatever she wanted to do since she had worked at Waffle House for more than 20 years. Of course, I would have been ashamed to say that the best I had accomplished in my 20 year career was being a short order cook at Waffle House. Manager seemed afraid to correct the ridiculously rude cook whom I’m sure has a mental problem since what she was saying made absolutely no sense. When I stated that I will contact the owner about their behavior, the manager pointed to a fake non-working phone number on the wall of 1-800-Waffle with 1-digit missing. So I’m not sure if Waffle House actually cares about how it’s employees act or how its customers are treated by its loud, ghetto-acting employees. Our server was excellent though and, since she was the only one with excellent customer service, the server should be appointed to the management position instead.
