If you order a cake make sure to be super specific even down to the letter coloring. Twice I have ordered a cake and twice they have given me the ugliest cake and the decorations were not what I had asked for. These cakes are quite expensive so its upsetting when they cake they bring out is not what was ordered. The first time I asked for purple, yellow, and blue flowers along with "happy birthday" written on it and buttercream frosting. You would think that would be colored flowers and writing on a cake with white frosting background right? Well, they covered the entire cake with big blobs of frosting. It looked like Josephs Technicolor Dream coat and was the ugliest cake I had ever seen. The blobs didn't even resemble flowers! They refrosted it which took about 20 minutes of my time which was an inconvenience as I was putting on a birthday party and had a tight schedule. The other cake, I just picked up today, I didn't have time to wait 20 minutes while they fixed it, so I had to take a cake with huge BLACK lettering for a birthday. Who puts black letters on a birthday cake? I ordered a cake with white frosting, I made sure to specify because of last time, and green and yellow balloons. They gave me a cake with huge black lettering that covered most of the cake and two ballons. Why wouldn't they just write the letters in green or yellow? Of all the colors they chose black? The lady just said sorry, I wrote on the order blue and yellow I don't know why they did black and didn't even offer to fix or a voucher. It was like "too bad so sad see ya". It must be high schools kids working there taking creative license. The cakes are not cheap and I would expect the frosting decorations to reflect the prices. Also every time I go in there it takes forever to be acknowledged. There will be no one even waiting in line and for some reason they don't come to the front area to ring up customers. I have also been in there where there are many people waiting for someone to...
Read moreMy wife ordered a delivered cake with 24 mini cupcakes for my Son's 2nd birthday.
Figured this would be the easiest part, but very wrong. After ordering and PAYING for everything up front, we then get a call a few days later saying that they are not able to deliver our cake, but good thing because "they forgot to charge us for delivery." I call BS first off. The day before our Son's birthday, we get a call saying that they misquoted our cupcakes and in order to put faces on them, that they are going to charge us an extra $30 for something we already paid for.
VERY rude on the phone, took no responsibility and acting like is was the end of the world completing an order that was already paid for. It seemed like every time they didn't want to do something because they kept booking events and running out of time, that they either didn't charge us for it already, or charged us too much.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, NOT RELIABLE.
You will be fed lies until the end.
UPDATE: After leaving this review, I called back and spoke to the manager that my wife spoke too. With a little bit of a lengthy conversation. She agreed to offer the cupcakes at the originally...

We're keeping up the tradition. Sit on your hands or buy grocery store mediocrity, and you'll miss one of the great culinary treats of Detroit. We go an hour or more out of our way to stop and make regular visits. This is only fair since production of Alinosi products is still done at the 6 mile store. The motive here is as much tradition and loyalty as anything else, so why should MY consideration come down to anything else?
Our favorite is Chocolate Indulgence in a hot fudge sundae. We head home with a pound of milk chocolate. Make the trip once, and you'll be back!
Sanders is gone. Stroh's is gone. They're just names for giant manufacturers run by people who would just as soon sell pencils or hubcaps. Alinosi is the last man standing - the last company still working in the tradition of its founders. Get over there and bring your...
