Despite its delightful ambiance, bright spacious interior, and warm welcoming, Daily Jam was a bit of a disappointment for me. For a brunch spot that boasts “Farm to Table”, I found our selections lackluster.
My “Over the Top” Bloody Mary was definitely not over the top, as I don’t eat bacon (and didn’t expect it), and for $3 extra, more than a celery stub and a boring green olive could have been included. Maybe up your game with whole celery, pickled okra, petite onions, marinated green beans, or garlic and jalapeño or blue cheese stuffed olives?
I choose an entree specifically that had more veggies in it than others, but I should have brought a magnifying glass! The zucchini bits were almost mince size and there weren’t very many of them. Why even mention them in the description?
I’m curious why the grilled potatoes are labled “famous”? They hardly seemed seasoned. They appeared precooked, then heated in the microwave rather than grilled. So I asked for the potatoes in my “to go “ order to be “extra crispy”. They were not; they were exactly the same, unseasoned and bland, not browned, and definitely not crispy. Hardly anyone at my table ate their potatoes at all.
My friend ordered the truffle omelet, which had a large uncooked slice of Portobello mushroom on it… so weird! Most cooks know that all mushrooms should be thoroughly cooked, even portobellos. It’s almost as if the kitchen was in a hurry, and more focused in getting the food out than preparing it right.
The best looking dish at the table was the Natie Bomb. It looked delicious, and the potato chips, although I didn’t try them, looked crunchy and house made.
Overall the service was great, the staff friendly, the atmosphere terrific… It was the food that was mediocre despite us all being lured in by the beautiful menu. We were all a little surprised at how quickly our food came out, and would have happily waited 5-10 minutes longer for our dishes for them to be cooked longer and prepared right.
My hope is that with time, feedback will help improve the food at our new brunch spot. If you are going to boast “farm to table”, please don’t skimp on the veggies. And if you’re going to charge $3 extra for an “over the top” Bloody Mary, give us something to shout about, and I...
Read moreTook awhile for them to open the doors to operations but didn’t specify how much you were making (after asking multiple times) couldn’t bother to message me back during work hours about a schedule that was not posted in public areas for us to reference. Also not to mention they knew you weren’t put on the schedule and you find out on the Sunday prior after you asked in person for the schedule you have no hours after reaching out two separate days for the schedule to be completly ignored and being told I should ask a coworker for my schedule. I reached out to coworkers trying to find the schedule and hours to your manager giving you an attitude because I should’ve ask someone…but I did and they said to ask the manager. Trying to communicate with your manager shouldn’t be like that. Also asking questions about the menu(which they didn’t train properly for the bar) everyone does what they want behind the bar and when you ask questions on display or setup of their recipes you get met with attitude, along with not setting up drink bar ingredients to make drinks properly. How do you expect to run a business when you have everyone doing whatever they want. How is someone to supposed to learn and thrive in...
Read moreThe place looks fantastic. The service was exceptional. The waitress and the restaurant manager were attentive to our needs. We ordered a mimosa flight, and it was really good. My husband ordered a cold brew, which we liked, and I got a dirty chai iced, which was tasty. However, the coffee-to-milk ratio was off, so I had to order an extra shot of expresso to balance it out. Food is where this place missed the mark. My husband ordered chicken and waffles, and I got an omelet. The waffle was nice and tasty, but the chicken was straight out of a frozen bag and warmed up, so it was not crispy and tasted like frozen chicken you get in the supermarket. The omelet was nice. I got the hot juan. I would have given the veggies more time to cook in the griddle, so they weren't so raw inside the omelet. The side of potatoes tasted good and was likely our favorite part of the meal. Even though these items were not a hit, I would go again to try...
