Woods Wholesale Wine — Restaurant in Grosse Pointe Woods

It was my first time buying from Woods and I spent nearly $900 on champagne from here for NYE . I must say, super pricing and great customer service! I will buy from here again! . . UPDATE 2019 . . This store just lost 4 stars by me, why? Because over the years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars with them buying champagne because I had such a wonderful first time experience. Two months ago, I went back to them wanting to order a LARGE order, over $6K worth of champagne, and they wont even budge on their cost. No further discounts on large orders. OK fine, I’ll just buy with another online wine whole seller! That’s what I did and end up saving thousands. Will probably never buy from these guys again due to the fact they are unwilling to provide further discounts to their long term loyal client! It’s not like I never did business with them in the past? Or I’m buying one or two bottles...I was buying over $6K worth of expensive champagne. For those of you are wine or champagne shopping, go to Empire Wine! They’re even more saving there! Woods Wholesale didn’t see the long term benefit of making their client happy. They’re short sighted, if you would’ve just discounted a tiny bit, shoot, $1 off a bottle, I’ve would’ve been like wow...they’re willing to work with me...but instead..your short sightedness caused you $6K of gross revenue. . . 2023 Update . . From 1 star back to 4 stars! These guys are back in my good graces. Went back to them for more wines, this time almost $4K worth of wines in the order. Paul was amazing working with me on getting the wines that I ordered. Great pricing, but shipping took forever. I had to e-mail them 2 weeks after my order to ask where...

Incredibly frustrated and disappointed in how they do business. My girlfriend and I went in to pickup a bottle of Angel's Envy Rye and confirmed beforehand they had it in stock. When we arrived, it was not on the shelf, but an employee at the counter pulled it from upstairs. When ringing me up, the employee notified me it would be $130 + tax. I had purchased this bottle before in Troy for $90 a couple years prior and so I mentioned that and asked why it was so expensive. He said this was the normal price and the price I was quoting was impossible as it was below state minimums. I assumed the price had changed and so went ahead and bought the bottle. Later that day, my friend went to his local liquor store in Madison Heights and confirmed the exact same bottle was for sale for $99.99. A 30%+ markup on a bottle relative to local competition is absurd, and to call me a liar on top of it was offensive. Will not be bringing my business here again, seems clear they took advantage of me to make...

I really wanted to make this my new place to buy wine and champagne. They have great prices and a great selection. Right before Valentine’s Day, I placed a $300 order (with shipping) - mostly champagne and a bottle of Cab. Well, the 3 Veuve Demi Sec splits that I ordered were all bad. It took me several weeks to get to all of them and getting one bad bottle is understandable but all 3 was terribly disappointing. While the bad bottles are not their fault - they did nothing to rectify the $80 poured down the drain. I was asked if I still had the box and bottles. I’m not really sure why I would keep them but since I do not, they advised that there is nothing they could do. I would have happily continued to order had I received better customer service. Very...
