People are great, both day and after 6pm shifts. Food was great and their ability to come up with a drink for me better than one on the board was commendable - management should maybe put together an "Employee's Creation Board". It would be another great way for Dunkin' Donuts Corporate Kitchen to come up with some drinks customers come to love. My complaints are several at this particular DD spot and those are:
From someone who likes to come into a 24hr, Wi-fi spot to read, study, or just kill time and, more importantly, to get out of the heat and the CT humidity, I found myself enjoying "just" the food and the employees, their kindness, as well as their tentativeness to my sporadic interruptions and orders.
It was hotter inside than outside. I was literally sweating the whole time I was there. From what I gathered, the AC unit had broken down earlier in the week, was repaired, had broken down again, but the manager refused to get it fixed.
I witnessed a female coming in for her shift who, visibly 5-6 months into a pregnancy, was carrying in a fan to manage the heat through her shift. Earlier in the day on the previous shift, I watched as, whom I later found out to be the manager (I will contact DD customer service hotline with the name), tell an afternoon-shift female, who was professing her concerns about the heat, "If it was hot, just open the door." Moments later, I heard the same individual yell at another employee about something of which I wasn't aware. This gentleman was extremely unprofessional.
There is an ongoing theme that, if heed were to be taken by the manager, an area manager (if one exists), the owner, and/or the corporate office, the existing Wi-fi would be given the "gangsta beatdown" it deserves like the printer in "Office Space". This thing is horrible -- so bad that the only thing missing is a 56k-modem sound and the speed of connecting to AOL from the 90's - faster by the way.
Well, I hope that review covered everything for you. Come enjoy a great meal, some enjoyable company in the employees, and some music - but bring a fan, your own LTE hotspot, and your own headset so that you can hear your own tracks over the...
Read moreI was very dissatisfied when I had late night cravings and was hoping Dunkin' in Groton would be able to fulfill my needs. I am not sure who works Wednesday night into Thursday early in the morning, but when I pulled in at the drive through at nearly 1:00 AM I asked for the cost of Munchkins. This was the reply I got, "we don't have any of those." So I decided on getting a dozen donuts... "we don't have any of those", the employee said. I began to wonder why a restaurant with "Donuts" in the name wouldn't have any donuts... I asked my fellow passengers in the car what we should get instead. We decided that we should get the 2 for $4 deal on bagels. This last request was met with a moment of silent anticipation. It was now clear that he was enjoying this sick little game. After we had waited what seemed like an hour with baited breath we were met yet again with the disgruntled reply, "we don't have any of those." Only this time it was more than informative; it was intentional and transparent that he reveled in his position of power over us. Maybe it wouldn't have been such an aggravating experience had the employee not wasted our time by telling us at the beginning that there were no options. Maybe there were and he just didn't want to get off his butt an do his job. The world may never know. What I do know, as a past employee of Dunkin' Donuts, is that the standard should...
Read moreI love DD's coffee, but wish they'd stop changing the names of items, eg.: coffee "coolatta" to "frozen" coffee; vanilla "chai" to vanilla "spice". The "chai" they almost never get it right. I have to explain "small, hot originally "vanilla chai, now vanilla spice". Plus I have to say, the powder ((old way) not the syrup." When I ask for the new way, they keep adding pumpkin spice, so it gets sent back. They have corrected me saying "just ask for vanilla spice". when I do, it's all wrong and they get peeved. So I no longer are what they tell me to say (& doesn't work), I have an entire schpiel I go into and it might come out correct. My bf has to taste it before we leave each time. Never know if they'll get it 4ight. Wish he'd find something easy that can't be messed up regularly. It's discouraging and it all emanates from the changing of an items name. Me? I only like regular coffee. They can't mess that up, right? Yup, they do on the regular. Small hot, light & sweet, comes out different each time. Sometimes 4 cream 4 sugar (too much for a small), or 3 cream 3 sugar... better, but still too sweet. Please stop renaming the same items, just for the heck of it. With the high turnover in employees, nobody is around long enough to remember what things USED to...
