Sneekers Cafe — Restaurant in Groton

I was recommended this restaurant by a dear friend that used to be a previous employee here and I am extremely disappointed by the phone experience I had while trying to place a takeout order.

I called, asked to place a takeout order and started my order. I asked if I was able to get the panko salmon seared and was told they had a similar dish on their menu to what I was looking for. I said that was fine and the female told me that would take about 20 minutes. As she was saying that, it seemed as if she was in a hurry to get off the phone. (I completely understand that restaurants get busy) as I was trying to finish my order, she hung up on me. I called back and asked the female that answered if it was the same person I had just gotten off the phone with. Which she then proceeded to hang up again. Called back a second time, asked the same question and she hung up on me again. I called back and asked to speak to a manger where I was then asked who was calling I told her that it was the same person she kept hanging up on. I could hear her in the background saying that this psycho lady wants to talk to a manger. I got connected to Annie and was asked what she could do for me. I explained the situation and she told me she was sorry for what happened but what could she do to help me in this situation. As a manager that foresees all of the staff that represents you, I expect you to figure out a solution to what just took place. I told the manager to cancel my order because I would not be picking it up and I would not want them to waste their time. Which she then said she was sorry to hear that, as I was missing out on a very good meal.

My friend asked me to meet her at Sneekers, a cafe in Groton I had never patronized. I'm a recent transplant, having been away from the area for many years. Being a disabled veteran, I looked for but didn't notice a handicap parking space near the entrance. There is an outdoor seating area in front of the entryway so maybe I missed it. The lot was fairly full, but I easily found a space. My friend and I entered and were met with smiles and hearty greetings from the staff. Very inviting. The tables and chairs are high up, like bar chairs, which made seating that much easier for me. (I have spine/back issues and use a cane.) The bar sits in the center of the room with tables and chairs on the periphery. A small stage sits at the rear with a giant moose head affixed above. The noise level is what you would expect but not overwhelming. We seated ourselves and the bartender (a very friendly lady) quickly took our order, returned with drinks, and advised the waitress would be along shortly. Menus were quickly provided, a super friendly waitress took our order and returned within five to ten minutes with our food. We had split a hot sandwich and fries, and the wait staff had placed fries and a sandwich half on separate plates, with plenty of food scattered covering the plates. It tasted great, especially the fries, and filled us up. The waitress checked on us often, was very sweet and kind, and was easy to talk with. My friend was on her lunchbreak, so time was a factor, and the Sneekers staff quickly and efficiently seated us, fed us, laughed with us, and made us feel like family. As Arnold said,...

If I could swear in my reviews, I'd say "HOLY F- THIS PLACE IS F-ING AMAZING" first time coming here and the service is absolutely fantastic, the food is SEVERELY WONDERFUL, and the bartenders are hella cool. Definitely a really good place to go. It's difficult to come up with a way to explain how much I've already fallen in love with this place after only a half hour here. The decor is pretty interesting and they've got a really nice layout too. I can't think of anything I could complain about. Come eat here. This is definitely in the top 3 for places I'd choose for dinner. ADDING to my review, a few hours after leaving and going home. This place deserves a gosh darn Michelin Star!
