Finally a Wood n Tap near me. Called to reserve a table, guy on phone said I had to go online but had no idea where. I said Open table? He had no clue but did apoligize. Cant do it on Open table but I did look on there website and was able to do it there. Came and it was very busy on a Tues and im so glad I made a reservation. Because we had a reservation we were seated right away. No wait at all. We ordered beef nachos to start and they were good. Then we ordered steaks, spinach/ artichoke flatbread, wings and a burger. I got the flatbread and it tasted just like the dip on bread but it was a tad burnt but I liked it. The steaks were on the smaller sidd and a little overcooked than Medium like requested but I didnt hear any complaints. The wings must of been good because my son didnt want to share which led to some table conflict but my daughter was able to steal one. Lol. The service was slow but expected with this much busyness but she got us everything we needed and she was pleasant. I did look for accessibility for a wheelchair and was able to find some tables in the back and some half booth/half tables that would work. The tables also look accessible being wide legged. Was happy to see that. So many restaurants miss the mark on that one. When I sat down the waitress moved my walker so it wouldn't be in the way. Was a nice evening, busy, tad loud but happy chatter. Id go again. You can go online and see what everydish looks like and you can also sign up for their rewards. So I signed up for a 5 dollar off, showed the code to the waitress and she never used it. Wasnt going to complain over 5 bucks with the busyness. Ill use it next time.

Tried my best to go in blindly and not be persuaded by any previous review or experience. This is what I have: Walked in on a random Wednesday July afternoon at 4 pm. Good thing I did: at this time the place was at 40% capacity, judging by the parking lot when we left at 5:30 it was near-full. The staff was...plentiful. We had a young man hold the door as we walked in. We waited a few seconds at the host station where an additional 4 staff were talking with us. We grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar. The building itself is beautiful: attention to details, great lighting in, on and around the bar. Music in the background was present but not-overtaking. We had not one, not two, but four different bar-tenders ask us if we needed drinks. Love this! We did have one main server whom we gave the tip to, but I loved that everyone checked on us when they could. Happy hour is present at 4 pm and we took full-advantage. The half-priced martinis were...good. Not huge in size, but they lacked a little on the alcohol end. Tasty enough, though. The half-priced calamari was very tasty. Again, not a huge portion but very crispy and delicious. In the end we got calamari, two tacos (chicken and fish...good enough that they lasted about 30 seconds) and four drinks (three martinis and one beer) for less that $50, with tax. I can see where waiting will become an issue. Even though the restaurant is big, with a lot of seating, the word is out that this place is golden and people are flocking to it accordingly. It is worth the wait, though. One of the better restaurants to hit Groton in a long time!

Went to the new Wood -n- Tap in Groton opening day. Got seated within 20 minutes, service and food was phenomenal from start to finish. Because of that, we returned last night. They were extremely crowded, said the wait would be about 35 to 45 minutes. We had no problem with that and waited for about only 30 minutes. The service was again incredible, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. When we got our food, we were a bit taken aback. I got the bacon burger and my husband got the fish and chips. Or should I say massive amount of chips with tiny pieces of fish. The portions of the fish were smaller than Tyson chicken strips. As you can see by the juxtaposition of the pieces next to the tartar sauce, and the fork next to one of the pieces, we couldn’t believe that this is a normal portion. It literally took 4 bites for him to finish the fish, that were a child sized portion at best. Ge asked if I wanted to try a bite, saying the texture was rubbery and hard to chew, but I declined because it would have lessened the tiny portion even more. Thankfully they overwhelmed the plate with fries otherwise he would have had what amounted to an appetizer bite with nothing else to eat. We will most likely return because the place is great, so is the food and service, but they missed the mark on this dish and won’t ever order the fish and chips again.

We waited 20 minutes to get seated, which was no problem because we saw it was very busy. Unfortunately the wait at the table became much longer for everything that would eventually come out. At first, we were giving the waitress the benefit of a doubt because it was extremely busy, but once we finally got our drinks and then the appetizers 45 minutes after we ordered them….we started to lose our patience. The waitress did not come over periodically to see if we had gotten our apps yet or take our main order. She finally came over about five minutes before we received our apps to get our meal orders. Which ended up meaning that we waited another 45 minutes for our actual meals. The building and design were beautiful, but the noise was overwhelming and we could barely hear each other talking over all of the other conversations in the restaurant. Which is unavoidable when it’s that busy, so it wasn’t a big deal as much as waiting so long that made the constant noise unbearable. When our meals finally came, a few things were missing that a food runner brought back. When she came back to the table we announced that the medium rare steak was cooked to medium well and she rushed back to the kitchen. Another server, not ours, came over and said she’d let our server know and get us another steak. She left quickly as well before we could say that every meal was gross. Burgers overcooked and cold, fries were cold. Calamari came out with our meals because they were forgotten with the apps. They were overly greasy and the flavor was off. My veggie burrito was lukewarm. It seemed like our food sat under a warmer for quite some time. My daughter’s pasta with sauce was dry and cold. I’ve never had an experience at a restaurant where just about everything was bad until last night. We never did see our server again after she took our main dinner orders. We dealt with other staff and eventually the manager came over and we explained everything.

The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed, but a server should be communicating that with their tables throughout the dining experience. She just straight up disappeared. We heard just about every other table around us complain about how long they waited for their food that tasted gross and not freshly made. Took a trip to the restroom and even heard a couple of women talking about how terrible the performance was with the wait time and the quality of the service and food.

I am a typically considerate person when it comes to dining out. As a server, I understand a busy night, but you don’t ever avoid your tables and disappear. You also don’t wait two hours for food that comes out cold and terribly cooked. By the time we got out of there after the manager finally came over and was willing to comp most of the bill….we hit the 3 hour mark of being there. We went in at 7:40 and left at 10:50. My kids were tired and asking to go home by 9:45. We should have just gotten take out and spent that time in the comfort of our own home.

I would usually give a place another chance but I honestly don’t think I’ll be back....

We came by two weeks ago on a Sunday. We had reservations because it was a big group of about 14 of us.

The place was packed. They are large so you may be lucky and find a place quickly since they had options outdoors and inside. The bar is pretty big so many can sit around it. The place is gorgeous and plenty of light coming in from all directions. I loved the wood everywhere and the option to have so many windows to let light in from all angles. that was a smart design. They have plenty of parking so never worry about parking situation. The bowling alley is across the street so you can continue the fun by crossing to the other side.

We all order drinks and flights. Everyone was pretty happy with the cocktails they tried and the flights. A few of us tried some beers and although it wasn't very cold it was good enough.

We all tried a lot of different meals. Penne a la vodka with grilled chicken; burger sliders; chicken sandwich, salmon sandwich, burgers, and more. Everyone was happy with their food and ate it all or took some home. They forgot a few things that we ended up having to wait a while to ask for it. One thing we didn't like and thought they can do better was the salmon burger, it needed or more sauce or tartar sauce. Perhaps they can ask the customers if they want extra sauce on the side because it was dry. We added tartar sauce and that fixed it.

Service was a bit off. Not sure if our waiter had too much on her place or simply not great service. We all had to wait a long time to see her or hustle to get her attention. She was pleasant the entire time and when asked for something always got it for us as quick as she could. But we all did feel that we had to keep trying to find her or wait a while to ask for anything.

I heard they have a great happy hours so I will make sure to come back and try more things and...

NOT WORTH IT. Went with my family excited to try the new restaurant in town hoping for a memorable experience. Instead it was disappointing, pathetic, and forgettable dinner experience ever. I was trying to be open minded about the Wood N Tap after reading a few of the negative reviews about it. But in the end those comments were 100% right. We waited for about 45 minutes for a table. It was overcrowded with families piling up outside waiting to be seated. While waiting we got an early look at the menu and surprised to see that for a huge restaurant there weren’t that many food options. Finally getting a table, we immediately placed our orders. Each of us got a different dish. Once again waiting about 40-45 minutes for the food to come. And when the food finally arrived, we were all hit with a wave of pure disappointment. Absolutely sub par. Starting with the burgers. Just by holding it in your hands you could tell it was cold. Stale buns. Tasted old, unseasoned, and just terrible. The fries it came with looked and tasted exactly like the ones from McDonalds. YES, FROM McDONALDS. The Chicken pasta tasted like microwaved canned food. The steak meal was also cold and sad. We get that it was really busy but our waitress didn’t bother to check on us once. And there were tons of others we saw just standing around in one place. So there it is. Horrific school cafeteria quality food. Mediocre service. And very long waiting just for overpriced dining. Even if you patient enough to wait that long, I still wouldn’t want a homeless person to eat food that bad. Looks great on the outside but completely dead and soulless on the inside. Just drive another 10 minutes to Texas Roadhouse, an American restaurant with actual personality to it. It’ll save...
