Absolutely terrible. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce combination. It is supposed to be spicy, garlicky, etc. What I got was nothing like that.
It LOOKED like garlic chicken usually does, but it has zero spice and, weirdest of all, I kept getting the taste of pineapple, as if there was sweet and sour sauce loosely mixed in. When it wasn't weirdly sweet, it was watered-down and lacking in flavor.
I couldn't eat it. I had some, but after getting that weird sweet pineapple flavor a few times, I had to throw it out. I was actually concerned that there was cross-contamination happening in the kitchen. They are so careless as to get sauces mixed up, use a dirty serving spoon from one thing to another, or not clean the chafing dish before putting another food in it. Are they careless enough to not follow other basic kitchen standards, like cleanliness.
Either that or they are just terrible at making garlic chicken. Either way, don't go there
This was on a Sunday evening too, they were not busy at all, there were literally two other people in there. No excuse for sloppiness in the kitchen.
The other two people were two guys who ordered to go and also got two whiskey sours. I overheard them talking about how their drinks were weird and not-very-good too. They put orange juice in a whiskey sour?
Don't waste your time or money. Skip this joint, there are...
Read moreSalutations! Had to take the time out and give the "Chinese Kitchen Restaurant" a well deserved review!
-My son and I moved to this area not too long ago and were in the mood for some good chinese food. He started looking at google reviews and he came across this joint!
-So we took a ride to this location and I pulled up into the parking lot, it was pretty empty, but it was only about 2p on a Friday. We placed our order: general tso's chicken combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Boneless spareribs combo with house special fried rice, 2 crab rangoons and egg roll. Ordered it online.
-Walked in and was greeted. I made them aware that I had placed an order and they said that it would be ready shortly. I then used the restroom, which was very clean (great sign). The carpet looked a little outdated, but I wasn't there for that. Our order was ready in approximately 10 minutes tops. Customer service was stellar!
-We checked our order, everything was good (duck sauce, soy sauce, fortune cookies, napkins). We got home and I was surprised to see the portions (plenty of meat & rice - we saved some for the next day), the rice was dark (the way I like it - not that yellow fake rice). Tasted great. Reminded me of some of my favorite spots in NYC. Prices were reasonable!
-I'm glad that we found our new go to Chinese...
Read moreI wasnât expecting the food to be THIS good. It reminds me of my favorite restaurant in Rhode Island that sadly closed down..âChensâ; which was world renowned. The egg roll, the chicken tenders with the sweet and sour sauce and the vegetable lo mein were so good! I was expecting the sweet and sour sauce to be that disgusting red sauce that turns into jelly 20 minutes after being in the fridge. BUT NO it was a perfect caramelized perfection of a sweet and sour sauce that I was able to dunk my chicken tenders perfectly into and turn into a creation of its own. I was so pleased with the portions..I will be able to have dinner and lunch tomorrow. I am extremely happy I went with coming here instead of Taco Bell..because I think anyone in Groton can admit that between Taco Bell, the run down KFC, and whatever that falafel and pocket place is across the street that closes at 4 pm, Chinese Kitchen is the place to go if you are craving Chinese food. Letâs not even mention the Chinese Buffet in the rundown strip mall next to shop rite or the Chinese place on Coleman that looks more like a soda distribution store; where if you order chicken youâll be ordering its appetizing feathers as well..BLAHH. SOO YES; Chinese Kitchen if now my go to place and I am soo beyond thankful I found them within walking distance...
