El Rincón Que No Conoces — Restaurant in Guaynabo

First thing I'll say the parking seem tricky (does seem to have some parking service). I was lucky I found a spot when I arrive. They do seem very protective of their parking spot (as there are other locals beside them) and will ask you.

The atmosphere to me feels a bit oudated, but that might be more so me. I been to dim light restaurant, but this one seem way to dim and this is with me sitting beside one off the maps. I understand that might be a plus for some, but for me it made seeing the menu a bit harder and I had to use flash to even take the pictute of the food.

Speaking of the food, I order the mofongo relleno con pollo al ajillo and I couldn't finish it. It was extremely salty tasting (the mofongo), the chicken didn't had that ajillo taste and more a herb like taste instead which threw me off. It might had been a one off bad plate, but is enough for me to make it hard to recommend.

Great food but awful service by waiter Jorge. We ordered appetizer and asked if our kids' meal could come out first, but they served our entrees first then the appetizer and lastly our kids meal last only after we asked for it. Waiter Jorge did not even check on us not even once if we were doing good. After we asked for the check he calmly sat down to eat and left us waiting 45mins. for the check and when we asked for it he was indifferent about it. To make matters worse the check was wrong, with items we didn't order and we had to get up and ask for it to be revised. In all, good food but such bad service will probably make me never go back. This happened tonight. After waiting 1 hour after ordering our meals, we requested it be packed to go. Other guests that arrived after us were served but we were left to wait one hour. When we got home, the tacu-tacus did not have any beans, they were plain white rice, pan fried to look like tacu-tacu. This on both our meals. We are familiar with peruvian food and have ordered this before from them and know what it’s supposed to be like and taste like. We had wine and ceviche during our wait and that was good. We will not patronize again. Sad when restaurants mistreat...
