Ocean Lab Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Guaynabo

Matías, I’m genuinely disappointed with my visit to Ocean Lab Brewery in San Patricio, Guaynabo. From the moment I arrived, the experience was frustrating. It took over 20 minutes just to get a server, and then another 20 minutes to get our drinks. To make matters worse, we were only served because we continued to ask for service. When the drinks finally arrived, the beer was served at almost room temperature—something you don’t expect at a brewery.

The staff was completely lost. They didn’t seem to know how to manage the bar area, and when I asked about the liquor brands, no one could give me a clear answer. I even spoke with one of the servers, and she admitted that their training was seriously lacking. To me, this points directly to poor management.

The bar’s ordering setup is also a mess—it’s awkward and adds unnecessary confusion. The waitress who eventually helped us was visibly frustrated, and I can’t blame her given the circumstances.

While reading other reviews, I noticed that you mentioned that the service has supposedly improved and that the poor experience is due to the short amount of time the place has been open. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any of that improvement during my visit.

While the music and ambiance were good, that’s about the only positive I can highlight. For the money spent, I expected much more. If you’re okay with warm beer and long waits, then this might be your place. Otherwise, I’d suggest going somewhere else.

The food was good, but the service was awful. Our waitress, Yopatrick, was not friendly at all and seemed like she didn’t care. When the bill came, we were charged full price for the beers, even though the screen clearly showed a lunch promotion — two for the price of one.

I asked the server about it, and she said she had forgotten to apply the correct pricing. She went to ask her manager if it could be fixed, but came back saying the discount didn’t apply. When I asked to speak to the manager myself, she suddenly changed her mind and adjusted the bill.

I still spoke with the manager, Brian, who told me she had never asked him about it in the first place and apologized for the situation.

Thanks to the waitress’s attitude and dishonesty, I’ll think twice before...

Pésima experiencia en Ocean Lab Brewing

Nuestra visita a Ocean Lab fue decepcionante desde el principio. Llamamos en dos ocasiones una un día antes y la otra el mismo día para reservar una mesa para un grupo de 10 personas, pero nos informaron que solo aceptan reservaciones para 12 personas o más y con depósito. A pesar de esto, accedimos a llegar temprano y asignar a alguien del grupo para asegurar una mesa, ya que nos indicaron que no habría problema para acomodarnos. Esto no tiene mucho sentido: si hay espacio disponible a nuestra llegada, ¿por qué no permitir una reserva para asegurar la comodidad del grupo?

Una vez en el lugar, el servicio al cliente dejó mucho que desear. Mientras estábamos sentados, los meseros trajeron a nuestra mesa, en al menos seis ocasiones, órdenes que no habíamos pedido y que pertenecían a otras mesas. Aunque fuimos honestos y notificamos cada error, esto reflejó un mal manejo y desorganización evidente.

Lo peor llegó cuando, en medio de nuestra comida, nos informaron que el tiempo de consumo máximo es de 3 horas y que debíamos irnos, a pesar de que aún estábamos consumiendo y una de nuestras órdenes ni siquiera había salido. Después de una larga discusión, nos permitieron terminar de comer, pero ya el disgusto era evidente.

Para colmo, al pedir la cuenta, tardaron casi una hora en entregarla. La experiencia fue frustrante y desagradable, con un servicio que dejó mucho que desear desde la reserva hasta la despedida.

Conclusión: Ocean Lab tiene un gran potencial como espacio, pero su mal servicio al cliente y desorganización opacan cualquier esfuerzo por disfrutar de la experiencia. No recomiendo este lugar si buscas...
