Wilo Eatery and Bar — Restaurant in Guaynabo

Was recommended by a friend that this place was a must go to when in Puerto Rico, Guaynabo area. We made reservations on a Monday evening and lucky we did because it was packed. The place is a nice size with outdoor and bar seating. You walk into the restaurant through their grocery market where you can purchase lots of different Puerto Rican Frozen To Go meals and side dishes. The dining area is spacious and VERY well lit (would have preferred it to be dimmer as it took away from the ambiance). Service was good and friendly but our waiter forgot 2 of our dishes but thankfully he did because we ordered with our eyes. The food was good.... really good. For starters we had the gruyere cheese balls. It came an order of 8 hot and crispy round croquettes with a sweet guava sauce. Then came out the mini alcapurrias which were also good (I would have preferred a traditional mayo ketchup as the sauce it came with tasted like just plain mayo). Then we had our main dish, the arroz con gandules risotto. This dish was surprisingly sooooo good. Perfect balance of flavors, noticeable sofrito, perfect texture, and amount of cheese. However, the chicharron on top seemed more like bagged than fresh. I would have preferred fresh crispy cuerito (the top crunchy skin of a freshly cooked pernil). We started with the Gouda Cheese “Bolitas” paired with a delightful Guava BBQ sauce. The crispy exterior and creamy interior, combined with the sweet and tangy sauce, made this appetizer unforgettable.

For the main courses, I had the Angus Beef Tenderloin “Bistec Encebollado,” a perfectly cooked tenderloin served with onions and a butter vinegar jus—a savory and rich combination that was simply exquisite. My wife enjoyed the Pasta Bolognese, a comforting and flavorful dish with cream cheese, a vibrant salsa roja, amarillos, and melted mozzarella cheese. The balance of sweet plantains and hearty Bolognese sauce made it a unique and delicious creation.

We ended our meal with a sampling of four incredible desserts: the rich and velvety Pikayo Cheese Flan, the refreshingly tart Bottom Crust Key Lime “Pie,” the indulgent Chocolate Decadence with raspberry coulis and caramel, and the Fudge Brownie topped with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. We'll I call to make a order, I was craving for some jumbo shrimps. So I call them ask the some random Q's and proceed to ask regarding the size of the shrimp, the girl that pick up the phone when to get someone who really know with details of that plate I was asking for. I ask him how big the jumbo shrimp are and he told me that they where big and there where no deceptions in the size of the shrimps trusting this MTFCKR. So I just said to him "okay I believe you I will have that" I work in a nearby food iconic location, I when to pick-up my order, I saw the bag contents and thought to myself wow this is small, I inform the cashier " If this plate and the shrimp are small I will go and give a review to this establishment, she smile and even nodded at me, I told myself this girl know that this is the crappies plate 😬. I when to eat to my car when I open the container, I was pissed!!! 4 small shrimp 4!!!! Do you guy's even know how much it cost? Like 48 dollars!!! I felt rob, something broke inside me.
