Ikebana Sushi Bar - Guaynabo — Restaurant in Guaynabo

We decided to go to this restaurant instead of one in Isla Verde. Big Mistake. The restaurant itself is very pretty. It even has a terrace out side. When we arrived there were only 2 more tables we didn’t get the table we asked for. The drinks took quite a while. The Tuna Tataki beautiful presentation the taste was off. The seaweed salad was good and plenty. The rolls were not a cool temperature. The wonton were soggy something about the wonton was just off. Fried rice had a lump of cold rice in it. The pieces of red yellow green and red peppers were way too large something I had not seen in oriental food before. We ordered saki and beer it took way too long for food and drinks to arrive. The wait staff is slow and it’s obvious why the 18% is included. Did I mention they have 2 food robots and still the drinks and food were very slow. I was soo disappointed because the place seems like it could have easily been one of our faves. We were there quite awhile and later noticed the place became pretty full. I am wondering if I came in at a bad time. If maybe I ordered the wrong stuff. But I don’t think so since what I ordered this time with exception of the masago instead of ikura ( they didn’t have it) was pretty basic. Overall I will Not be returning even if the place was pretty and cool inside. Not worth a second visit.

I wanted to leave a 10% tip but waited on my bill so long I hit up and sat outside where they took my card went inside proceeded with the transaction and brought me the slip to sign. Welcoming and friendly. The staff are all bilingual, which is the first time I've seen this! Seating outside, under a unique covering; it's transparent! Daily lunch specials! Upon entering, was greeted by Jeanlee. She is a true professional! Attractive and intelligent. She was my server, for the experience! Very refreshing and relaxing atmosphere. The surround sound music was a variety of smooth classic's. Many different areas to dine, or just relax and enjoy your time. The Sushi is the best on the Island! I decided on sitting outside, but the weather wasn't cooperating. Jeanlee, assisted with my alternate seating arrangement She looks like a Geisha! I will be asking for her upon returning! The Chefs are visible with their craft, at back of the restaurant! The decor has the Oriental flavor. Many cameras were seen, outside and inside, for your protection and privacy; so you can truly relax! It was an all female staff, except the Bartender. The bar, is longest one I've seen! Fully equipped with everything you can think of! House drinks are tasty and refreshing. I ended up dining in an area which was warmer, according to Jeanlee! The temperature was cold! If you like the cold; this restaurant is for you! Many large screen television were seen in statigic locations. The menu is very extensive with fried to raw meats and seafood.
