Ok so... my experience here was nothing short than terrible. For starters, half the hosts and waitors feel like they don't know where they are, what the menu is or even how to greet a guest properly (i do have something else ill mention about 1 waitress in particular soon but ill get to that soon)
I called in early once they opened, roughly about 11:30 am to make a reservation for my group and i to go try out this new restaurant. Originally i wanted a reservation for 2:30 but i was informed that couldn't be done because the play room was already reserved snd that the latest i can get a reservation was for about 3:30-3:45pm. I agreed to these terms as the time difference doesn't really bother me all that much.
Once we arrived we were greeted by a few odd Hosts who seemed rather new or just clueless at their jobs (important key note one of them was the same person who had given me the reservation in the morning going by Carlos) and we were quickly told that my reservation could not be met due to the other group arriving late and their reservation was "delayed" and we were offered instead to just dine in normally and we would be brought a nintendo switch or have another reservation set for us at 5:00pm, this normally wouldn't bother me but i had some errands to run at around 7:00pm so this wouldn't work for us. This was already a red flag of whats to come, nevertheless we accepted to hopefully have this place redeem itself (it did not). We are also people who live roughly about an hour away from the restaurant so delaying it more was also kind off a no go as we just wanted to eat food and have some fun and not leave super late.
We were sat on a normal table and our waitress was ☆Natalie☆ (a wonderful waitress). She guided us through the vision and ideal of the place and gave a wonderful service, contrary to her other workmates. When we recieved the menu, we were already bummed out as we were essentially told "hey, your reservation means nothing to us, we can only offer you a normal table and see if we have a spare nintendo switch to offer" and even though Natalie gave us a excellent service, the food and drinks were all super expensive, we only ordered a sampler and a few drinks and we had already broken past 60$ in the bill in just drinks and a sampler alone (1 piña colada, 2 lemonades, 1 water, 1 soda and 1 of their house alcoholic drinks which was decent at best). The food is highly overpriced and the experience was just awful overall, i don't think i'll return in the future and would advice people to reconsider their options before visiting.
Natalie, you were amazing and i wish you the very best and thank you for a wonderful service but sadly one person cannot carry the failure of all the rest. It was a team effort and your team let you down.
Any managers of the place should really help educate their hosts on how to deal with the reservations because the two who "reserved" our table were clearly unaware of the meaning of the word...
Read moreWhat can I say about Our House Restaurant & Bar in San Patricio Plaza? This gamer friendly space just opened recently so we went and tried it out. Let's start with the positives. The staff is friendly, if a little green, but they make up for the deficiencies in enthusiasm. The location is well put together, the gaming lounge is inviting, the decor minimal but appropriate. But there is a disconnect from the intention to execution. It looks like a hip gamer friendly space, with a podcast production studio and a screen taking up a whole wall, but the bar and food offerings are pretty standard, like a regular restaurant. They have game related names, the ones that I got at least, but they seem tacked on to a plate someone conceived separate from the restaurant's theme. The menu seems like a poser trying to pass off as a gamer. I'll come back to the menu in a second… Let's talk about first impressions. I have a need to drink a lot of water while I eat, because of a medical condition, so the first thing I ask the server is for a glass of water, and to kindly keep it coming. Some bring a pitcher, but not having water makes it hard for me to swallow normally. I asked the waiter for a glass of water, and she kindly told me they DON'T do glasses of water, only bottled water. Could it be a water quality issue? Maybe, but I get glasses of water at the restaurant next door, this just seems like a money making ploy. And Bottled water is $2.95 a pop. This alone made me say, I'm not coming back here, not feasible for me. Beyond this, how's the menu and food? The menu is limited, not huge like many other places, and this can be a good thing with a tight focused menu, this is not the case here. It seemed all over the place, some high end items with some very simple fare. They have a make your own salad menu, that seems like the character making menu in a game, on brand, but uninspiring to me. In the current economy I realize food costs have been increasing but overall I found the food here high priced for what it was. Chicken fingers and fries for kids $14, a generous portion but bland in taste. The cod croquettes were my favorite, more like crabcakes than croquettes but tasty, if a little overcooked. The rest of the table had a sausage sandwich and burgers. The condiments and garnishes were tasty, but that's where the flavors came from. The meats were bland on their own. French fries were not very crispy, serviceable but nothing memorable. Parmesan fries? Just sprinkle some cheese on the fries, nothing special or particularly tasty. Their version of a Moscow Mule was good, on the strong side, and the bar prices seemed on par with what to expect. Beer choice was incredibly limited but that seems to be due to them recently opening. Our House is a sports bar with gaming elements tacked on to compete with other game themed restaurants popping up. It's a local business, but I'm sorry to say...

The venue leans more towards the casual charm of a sports bar, with multiple screens playing everything from boxing matches to basketball and baseball games.
The staff's friendliness stood out, as each interaction felt personal and genuine, from the initial greeting to the attentive waitstaff.
On a quiet Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was relatively empty, which allowed for prompt service—my order arrived in just about 20 minutes. I opted for their signature cocktail, "Licenciado," a refreshing blend that resembled a strawberry lemonade with a smooth vodka kick. Paired with their "Punch Out Skirt Steak," the meal was nothing short of satisfying. The steak, cooked to perfection, boasted a rich, savory flavor that left me thoroughly impressed.
Our House is ideal for gathering with friends, particularly if you're looking to catch a game. The ample parking and convenient acceptance of credit cards make the experience all the more seamless. Keep in mind that the kitchen close at least an hour earlier...
