Jay's Taste of India food truck — Restaurant in Guerneville

It is very rare that I am transported back to India when visiting an Indian food establishment in the US, but that's exactly what I experienced today. I am so happy right now!! 🙂

My wife ordered Pakodas and Samosas and I ordered their Chicken Curry Combo. We capped it off with their one of a kind Yam Halwa and Masala Chai.

Drinking the piping hot chai with shehnai playing in the background on a wintry day really transported me back to India.

Last but not least, the service was like back home with a big smile and even bigger heart! Dil se...

Btw - Jay is not only a great cook, he is even a great singer, and treated me to a few lines from a golden oldie Bollywood song.

Not a normal indian food truck where most meals are ladelled out. My meal was hand cooked to my taste preference by Jay who also gave me a sample of his Chai - the best I've EVER tried by MILES - to heat me up on the chilly day.

He asked my spice preference and took the time to give me a sample to ensure that we didn't miscommunicate. Turns out my 6.5/10 was more like his 3.5/10 (so be careful i guess).

Very few work with as much kindness and passion - and the food was unbelievable. Thank you for making my drive yesterday special by serving me up a GAS STATION parking lot meal better than many 5 star...

The last thing I thought I'd find in Guerneville is great Indian food from a food truck. We were looking for a place for casual dinner and there are few options in this downtown area: Mexican food, a few bars and a few upscale American places. We usually prefer ethnic options and gave this place a chance. I am so glad we did. The food is excellent, at least as good as the mid level places in San Francisco.
