CREDIT CARD FRAUD!!!!! On Thursday January 28th I made and paid for an order on line via their website for $15.07. The website said order would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived, the girl at the window advised that payment was not received and asked to insert my credit card into their cc machine on the counter. As she handed me the slip to sign, I opened the cover to the pizza that was handed to me and noticed that it clearly was not the pizza I ordered and therefore did not sign the credit card slip. The person in charge (very pleasant person to deal with) not a Manager, came to the window and said they never received the on line order, although I produced evidence that the order went through and was paid for on line. He stated they use a 3rd party vendor for on line orders and they have issues with them. He said he could make me my pizza in 3 minutes (who can do that) and to wait for it. I said I could not as I was in a rush and did not believe a good 🍕 could be made in 3 minutes. I just asked to make sure my credit card did not get charged or any charges get reversed, which he said would not be an issue.
A few days later I checked my bank account on line. Much to my chagrin, not only was my card charged $15.07 for my on line order, it was also charged another $17.22 for the pizza they tried to give me at the window. Assuming that whoever the $17.22 pizza was truly intended for paid for it, Janino’s received $49.51 for ONE pizza on this evening.
On Friday February 5th, I returned to the Janino’s window, with all necessary dates and documentation, seeking a refund (either cash or credit refund) in the amount of $32.29. The person in charge, the same person as I encountered the week before, remembered the encounter from the week before. As he was not a Manager, he stated he did not have authority to issue a refund. He took down all necessary information including my contact information. He then called their Daphne location where there is a Manager and/or Owner that can authorize a refund. The person on the other end stated they did not have authority to authorize a refund and would present this information to the proper person and that I will be contacted in the next day or so regarding a resolution.
Well, it is now February 12th, there have been no credits issued to my credit card and I have not been contacted by any Manager or Owner regarding a refund that is clearly owed. So, for past customers that ordered on line, please check your statements that you were not double charged and for future on line orders, make sure you do not fall for the “we did not receive your on line payment” line and DO NOT use your credit card a 2nd time at the window.
As it has now been over two weeks since the initial transaction and apparently Janino’s has no interest in resolving this directly with me as I have reached out to them, I can only conclude they are running some kind of credit card scam and will be reporting this $32.29 theft to the Better...
Read moreAITA? Because the customer service here left me feeling gaslighted. We really wanted to like this place as it is conveniently within walking distance from our home; however, our terrible experience tonight ensured we will be going a little further down the road to order from the much friendlier Surf Side in the future. We called in our order and was told they do not deliver, despite it being advertised that they do; no problem, we didn't mind picking up as it is very close and I know staffing is hard right now. We were told 25-30 minutes; because we decided to walk we arrived 10 minutes after that. The young lady at the window asked for my name, searched the orders, asked if we had already placed our order, I told her more than 30 minutes ago, she shuffles through a stack of order tickets, pulls one out and sticks it up on the line, and then rings me up, all without one word of explanation. I pay for my order and included a 20% tip thinking my order was ready to go. She asks if I want a receipt, I said yes, she didn't provide the recipet or say anything else to me. Another gentleman comes by and asks my name, I tell him, thinking he's grabbing my order, but instead he says "we'll have it right up from you" again without any explanation. I'm standing outside waiting to be handed my pizza I believed was ready. Three other parties walk up and walk away with their pizzas. Finally almost an hour after I had ordered, the cashier hands me my order without a single word. Frustrated by the lack of communication about the pretty lengthy delay, I told her that if my order was messed up at the very least she could have offered an apology. She angrily snapped back "first of all, your order went out to the wrong person" to which I responded "that's not my fault" and she just turned and walked away without saying anything else. I got home with my pizza and wings and further disappointed to find they didn't include the ranch for the wings. I certainly hope the staff appreciates the tip despite the horrible service and nasty attitude. I wish I had looked at all the reviews about the terrible customer service before we ordered. Maybe that's what they mean by New York style? Because it definitely...
Read moreThe first thing you should know about this place is that there is not really anywhere to sit. It is a walk in to get your pizza and get out kind of a deal. Of course it is July and the middle of tourist season so the place was busy. We placed and order online and it was a 50 minute wait. That wasn't an issue. The real issue arose when we arrived an hour later to get our order and were immediately told that it would be another 30 minutes. There was not a whole lot of parking in the area, there is only one bench to sit on while you are waiting. No fans or any kind of mist outside to help people keep cool.
So we waited. The door dash people were getting their food rather quickly. However we on the other hand were trying to get someone's attention and were blatantly ignored along with the rest of the people who were with us. The first lady I asked gave two seconds of effort to look for our order and then walked away to do something else and take another order. The second time we asked she simply said she could not find it. Then we finally asked the other woman working who we were trying to get her attention, but everytime she was taking orders. Staff seemed to avoid the ongoing issue at hand and it was not just us.
They finally called my friends name to come up to the counter and pick up our order. When she walked up to the counter, they returned to ignoring us. AFTER calling us up there and telling us that our order was ready. We placed our order at 7:30 online. We walked out at 9:00 PM. There were people around us that were concerned if their kids would even be awake by the time that they got home with the food.
The food itself was not bad. The family seemed to enjoy the pizza and my friend and I thought the Spinach calzones were pretty good. However the experience itself was NOT worth the 86 dollars we spent after the entire ordeal. If I could have taken the tip back that I had placed online, I probably would have after the horrid attitude...
