I ate here and loved it! Gulf Shores was in need of restaurant with this level of food excellence. The restaurant is located in the new Embassy Suites hotel. It is well-designed and elegant while maintaining the coastal atmosphere. You have a beautiful view of the Gulf from the restaurant.
I had the crab ceviche and the fried green tomatoes appetizers. They were both excellent. The stone ground mustard on the fried green tomatoes was amazing. The flavors in the crab spread were excellent and brought out the crab. Everything was very fresh and it was clear that the ingredients were high quality.
The water served to us was filtered water, not tap water. It's all too common to be served tap water and the difference is stark.
For the entree I had the Gulf Grouper with the pineapple-mango salsa. It was served with vegetables and coconut rice. The fish was well-seasoned and all the flavors of the dish worked great together. I loved the salsa, despite being a sweet pineapple-mango salsa, it still had enough heat as any salsa should.
Overall I'd highly recommend Tide and Table if you're looking for an amazing dinning experience and exceptional quality food. There really is no other venue in the immediate vicinity of the Gulf Shores area that matches this. To get a similar experience you'd need to visit the Perch at the Lodge or Voyagers at the Peridido.
Also, huge shout out to the staff, which provided exceptional service, something I always want went visiting a...
Read moreThis was.. disappointing. Everything was slow, and the restaurant was nearly empty. Drinks came at the same time apps did, which weren't great because our server made them as the bartender was taking too long. Apps were good, but thats where the good ends. My friends ordered the seafood boil which is listed as being for two. Tiny. Quite tiny. And the shrimp was ice cold to boot. Of course this was after waiting over an hour for our food after ordering. We sent the seafood boil back without eating any of it. Nobody ever came to apologize or check on our experience. Portion sizes were small across the board, and overall food quality was meh. They also 'do things differently' and have you write your tip in before the server runs your card. Which makes me really uncomfortable. If you're looking for something that resembles finer dining.....
Read moreMy hubby and I had dinner here for my birthday. We really enjoyed the astosphere. We had a table outside. Our food was great and seasoned to perfection. I had the pork chops and hubby had the chicken. I would have given 5 stars, but our server got seated a large table of 8 or 10 people. Once that table was seated they forgot all about us. She probably should have had assistance. Overall great experience and we plan to return...
